Excellent

The headset is easy to use and works great. Volume is very good, I use it on a medium setting most of the time. 3 different charging options are very convenient. The only drawback is it has limited range. I can only move about 10-12 ft. away from my phone (I have used it with 2 Motorola phones and a T-Mobile Dash all with the same results).

After doing some research on many different bluetooth headsets, I was told to spend at least $50 on any headset, and that I should only look at brands the truly specialize in bluetooth. While Motorola and Samsung make good products, I was advised to look at Plantronics and Jawbone for great products. The 655 is perfect offering all the features of the 640, as well as many others. The USB charger is great for the office and car (if you happen to have an DC adaptor with a USB input, Griffin Powerjolt Car Charger for iPod), and the pocket charger is great providing a quick charge from a AAA battery. Overall, a great product from a reliable company at a good price.

Bluetooth 655 Headseat by JDB

The Bluetooth Plantronics Discovery 655 DSP Ultimate Bluetooth® Headset with DSP for all Bluetooth Enabled Phones [Retail Packaged]is a nice addition to my cell. I had tried several different wired headsets and all seemed to have some draw back, most notably sound quality and volume. The 655 is compact and works well once you get used to the buttons and how long to hold them down for certain functions. You will need to experiment with the ear pieces to get the right comfort.

The battery life could be better. I would recommend strongle to purchase the cigarette lighter adapter if you are going to be in your car and on the go. It is inexpensive and really helps to keep the 655 in use during the day.

I haven't tried any other style of Bluetooth except this one, so I can't make that comparison. I am definitely glad I got it and would buy it again.

Great product, great service

The Plantronics 655 has a few great things going for it:
* Sound quality
* Style
* Ease of use
* Customer service

I've been very impressed with the sound quality. My wife has one of the early ones from Treo and always tries to borrow mine instead. I've had an occasional problem if I'm in a very loud area but that's true even if I'm on my cell phone.

The style is great - it's small and discrete. It stays in my ear very well, even without the loop. I also like that the case has a belt clip - I attach it to my phone's case and it goes well there.

In terms of ease of use, the greatest thing is that I can leave it attached to my phone and answer calls by removing it from the case. While it is comfortable to leave in my ear, I would rather not do so and find it very easy to answer this way.

I put customer service last but it's probably the most important. When I bought the 655, they shipped it with an attachment that goes on the bottom of the case. The USB cable plugged into the attachment. About six months after purchasing it, the attachment started to come apart. I called up Plantronics and was stunned that I was put on hold for exactly 0 seconds. After the guy answered the call, he processed my request very quickly and professionally and gave me the new kind of cable that goes directly into the case instead of the old attachment, which was more cumbersome. I didn't know that anyone offered that kind of customer service any more - and that's what will lead me to buy a Plantronics product the next time I'm in the market for one.
