Cables to Go 7 Port USB Hub

Overall a very good product. Looks nice and performs well. The only problem I had was the interaction with my HP ScanJet scanner. It does not work to plug that scanner into that USB hub! (Or probably into any USB hub, for that matter--I suspect the real problem was the scanner.) Not only did the scanner stop working when I plugged it into the hub, when I would reboot, the entire USB bus would sometimes stop working and none of my USB ports would function. I finally got smart enough to plug my scanner directly into the computer and not go through the hub, and that solved the problem.

Great way to extend your USB devices!

I am very pleased with this nifty little device! Now in addition to my 6 ports (minus 1 for the unit) you can add 7 more ports. Now we know we don't use our devices all at once. I read from another reviewer that the blue light bothered him. He was right! but I put a book over it and that's that. The light is on all the time even if the computer is off. It comes with a mounting kit to mount it to the desk, wall, unit, whatever. The KEY is this is a powered unit. It has to be plugged in to work. But it does work. Very small and compact, it powers my 4 external hard drives, and I still have 3 on the unit to spare plus I moved the ones plugged into the front to the unit. Overall I am very pleased a good investment of $25.00. Thank You Amazon!

Good as it gets

I bought this hub to work with my laptop. I recently got rid of my desktop so my I made my laptop my main system for the while. That said you can understand the need for more USB ports.

The design is sleek and comes with a bracket that you can secure to a desk, or whatever you decide to bolt it on to. The hub itself is very durable, heavy and solid. Maybe the only con, in that you will have to pay a little extra for the weight (shipping)as opposed to the alternative USB hubs. The black with the silver and the BLUE light at the centre looks really good for those of you who want something that looks as good as it works.

I have had it for a month now, and it works great. So far no problems whatsoever. In fact I find it very responsive the moment the system boots up / when I plug in another device etc.

Overall it is great, does what it says it does, and looks great as well. Very durable which is an additional benefit from other hubs. I am very pleased with my purchase. Hope this was helpful for anyone considering purchasing it!

Style and function

Very stylish and functional powered USB hub. I have had this for a couple months now and used it w/ my macbook and thinkpad w/ a variety of usb devices: mice, cameras, keyboards, etc, including a 320 GB WD passport external HD, which requires a powered USB hub (and is known to have issues w/ some others) without any problems.

I NEEDED THIS SOOOOO BAD !!!!

Every time I turn around I'm running out of places to plug in peripherals. USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 or Firewire or eSATA. This USB 2.o hub is great and you can add more to it if you want. This was so easy to install because you mount the plate first and then slide the hub into the plate. No more trying to line up the little cross-hares on the back with the screws that you may or may not have centered properly. Also it is very low profile. Super plug and play You computer just knows it is there. No software to install or " Add Hardware " Wizard to deal with.

The only thing I don't like about this USB hub and others as well is the super bright blue light. I mounted my hub on the back of my cabinet and I don't see the blue light unless I'm trying to sleep. And then it's just annoying. I hope they start using a dimmer light. If something stops working I can look for the dim light on the hub instead of a bright one to see if it's online
