ball is too hypersensitive

I really was interested in the design and capabilities of this Kensington cordless trackball / mouse. Until now I have used a Logitech trackball and found, as another review did, the Kensington slimblade ball too, too hypersensitive, with no way of adjusting it. It really distracts from the speed at which you can work. Hope I can get a refund, as I will try and go back to the Logitech models.

What I have been looking for

I simply love this trackball mouse. I don't know what to write except it's worth every dollar I paid for. Only problem is it doesn't work on glass surfaces.

Excellent compact mouse

Easy to pair and is recognized as soon as it is turned on. It can be hot switched from trackball to regular mouse. This is a double purpose mouse.

It is very compact so it is perfect if you are on the road. I've had it for a couple of weeks (about 5 hrs a day) now and have not changed the batteries. It has a low battery indicator, and it is still showing a 3/4 charge.

Would be five star if there were software to support it

This is a potentially great product. It's slim, reliable, and an elegant solution for a traveler who hates touchpads.

HOWEVER - the ball is hypersensitive, and there's nothing that can be done about it in Control Panel > Mouse, etc. even after setting scroll to 1 line at a time. Kensington's Mouseworks is incompatible with Vista. After several exchanges with Kensington's CSRs, I had to send it back.

It's a pity that Kensington is marketing one of the most expensive mouse products in the industry and doesn't ship it with software to permit tuning to user preferences.
