Not bad, but needs work, wait for the next revision

I bought this item from amazon two weeks ago. The sound quality is not bad on my end, but not the best ive had either, it sounds kinda tinny and almost like in a tunnel. The lack of volume controls on the headset is a big draw back as well. Aparantly on the other side of the phone call the sound is bar-none the best for noise cancelation, you however receive only the benefit of never having to repeat yourself. The part that really bugs me is that it doesnt fit my ear, no combination of the earbud/over ear piece work, i have even gone as far as to bend them to adjust them, i still cant get it to stay in my ear.
So like i said in the beginning i would wait for the next revision due out this year before purchasing this item.

Best Bluetooth headset I've tried

Tried other (lower cost) Bluetooth headsets and was not impressed. This one works great, people hear me and I can hear them. Background noise around me is inaudible to the other caller. Battery life is good and charging is easy via 120vac adapter or USB from my PC. It is also quite comfortable with various ear loops and inserts supplied, although I could not remove the ear loop - seems stuck, but the installed one was OK for me.

Works Pretty Good

The Jawbone works pretty much like advertised. My only complaint is that none of the ear buds really fit all that well. It took me a couple of weeks to find the right combination ear wire shape and ear bud shape. The ear wire is very malleable so it's easy to shape, but even so, I would say that it just fits pretty good, not great. What I really like is that it's light and doesn't annoy me when I have it on. Having said that, I'd buy it again.

Very good overall

I consider myself a pretty tech savvy person, so I will admit that using the headset is extremely simple and should be for even novices. I don't have the problems that most people have with the earbuds or earhooks. Most complaints are because the earhooks break. If you read the directions, it is very easy to use and they shouldn't break. There are standard and long earhooks for left and right ears. If you use the left earhook in your right ear, it will probably break because it is not contoured to fit that particular ear. The earbuds, however, are a different story. It took some testing to find the one that is most comfortable, but is very simple, again, if you read the instructions. Pairing and connectivity are incredibly simple. The only reason I gave the product a 4-star rating instead of 5 is because I have the phone (Samsung U740) in my left pocket almost all of the time and wear the headset in my right ear. The earpiece looses connection a lot and is aggravating. The simple solution would be to relocate the phone, which I do, but I would have thought the signal would be stronger. If there aren't any obstructions, I can talk on the headset 20ft away from the phone before I get a little static. Very good product and I would recommend it to anyone.

Love it! Jawbone is the best, but not quite perfect

I love it! Don't leave home without it!

Pros:
+ Significantly better than the Motorola H700 (the other "best" one, or at least it used to be)
+ Red = easy to see, easy to find in the bottom of a purse.
+ Once on, it stays on your ear (yes, it takes a little bit getting used to).
+ Clear to hear, no static, very rare to get any complaints from others (None of "Can you hear me yet?"). Any complaints occur right before the battery dies.
+ Quick charging time.
+ Easy one-touch button to answer a call.
+ Convenient beeping sound to alert me of an incoming call even though my phone may be on vibrate.
+ Price, $76 is reasonable nowadays even though I payed full price when it came out $130. Make sure to get free shipping!
+ Compatible with my iPhone, not sure about other phones (thank goodness, because I don't like how the iPhone rubs on my cheeks).
+ Noise cancellation, it does work, especially in the car, so no one can tell that I'm talking and driving.
+ Long battery life, at least for one work day. I use it all day at work, so that I can do other things like type on my laptop.
+ Easy to use, once paired with the phone.

Cons:
- It is possible to buy a 4-pack of spare ear loops in one size but not for the ear buds. Who needs several ear buds of many sizes? Whoever doesn't need the regular size, don't throw it away, I'll take it.
- The black cap got stuck in the USB charger one day, but Aliph admitted that it was a defect and promptly exchanged it. Unfortunately, I had to pay for the return shipment because of their defect.
- "Proprietary" charger, so I suggest buying a spare, one for home, one for work.
- No "proprietary" charger for the car, so you have to use an adaptor, which does not make it impossible.
- No light or signal on the Jawbone to let people around you know that you are on the phone (but this would make it hard to check voice mail during meetings).
- Ear loop is easy to break inside a pocket, for example.
- Quick customer service, once you find the phone number.

Relatively, I probably should give it a 5 star rating since there are no real competitive products, but the Jawbone is not quite perfect (yet). I definitely recommend this item to friends and family.
