TOTALLY SWEET!

It does what it says it will do. And quite beautifully.
It was easy to install and set up and it works perfectly on my Macbook Pro running Leopard.
Very small, and it's tracking is so subtle that one only needs a VERY SMALL travel footprint to cover a large distance on the screen.
I guess that's exactly what I want from a portable mouse that may only have 4 inches of tray-table to play with when I am trying to work on a project. Or my knee. Or the surface of my clip-board.....
Oh, and you can convert to trackball, when there's no surface,(or knees), to work with.
Yep. It rates a 5 star with me!
Buy it, it's worth it.

What I have been looking for

I simply love this trackball mouse. I don't know what to write except it's worth every dollar I paid for. Only problem is it doesn't work on glass surfaces.

Outstanding Mouse and Trackball

I have had this mouse/trackball for two days now and I can only state that setup was nil--there was no setup except to pair the Bluetooth, which on a Mac is as easy as walking. Easy to use, extremely accurate pointing, and the great feature of double-clicking to change from trackball to mouse and back again. I have an Apple MacBook Pro that I use on a laptop desk. Scrolling in Excel, for example, from left or right is always a challenge because of the limited space with a mouse. With the Slimblade, one simply clicks to change to the trackball, and voilà! It's so easy.

If there is one drawback, there is no middle or side button to allow me to easily use Spaces, one of Apple's Leopard OS' greatest features. But, shy of this third button, this mouse/trackball is one fantastic invention. Thank you Kensington.

And, by the way, it may seem pricey, but this is a first and I believe the price is absolutely "spot on."

Would be five star if there were software to support it

This is a potentially great product. It's slim, reliable, and an elegant solution for a traveler who hates touchpads.

HOWEVER - the ball is hypersensitive, and there's nothing that can be done about it in Control Panel > Mouse, etc. even after setting scroll to 1 line at a time. Kensington's Mouseworks is incompatible with Vista. After several exchanges with Kensington's CSRs, I had to send it back.

It's a pity that Kensington is marketing one of the most expensive mouse products in the industry and doesn't ship it with software to permit tuning to user preferences.
