An Apocalyptic Cult Classic!
This review applies to ISBN 978-1411628984. Buyer beware! There are inferior editions offered by other publishers. This edition is a photographic replica of the original booklet, not a poorly-executed OCR product jam-packed with errors.
Apocalyptic cults need an apocalypse, and they need for it to be imminent - not too close, but certainly not too far away.
When the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society (Jehovah's Witnesses) first published this screed, it was offered for consumption as the guaranteed Word Of God. Years later, when the predictions failed to come to pass, the Watchtower Society blamed the overactive imaginations of their readers for any misunderstandings.
Which was it? Did "Judge" J. F. Rutherford speak God's truth or not? Did 1925 mark the beginning of a "great jubilee" on earth? Did 1925 witness the "return" of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old?
Anyone interested in what the Jehovah's Witnesses are teaching TODAY owe it to themselves and their loved ones to examine what the WTB&TS was teaching in the past. There are times when past performance is an indicator of likely future results.

Ha Ha Ha
It's so funny. A hilarious book you just can't put down. Why? Because they were actually serious. It is the Plan 9 From Outer Space of the book world.
So called proof the world was going to end soon and everyone reading that book new (In the 1920s) would live to see the end of the world. Of course the generation old enough to read that book is well past their 90s and mostly dead.
I Do Not Exist...
...At least not according to Joseph F. Rutherford, second president of the Jehovah's Witnesses, as they would come to be called in 1931. And that's why this fascimile edition of "
Millions
Now
Living
Will
Never
Die" is such an important evidentuary for anyone who engages in discussions with Witnesses.
So often, it is nearly impossible to get a Witness to look at anything that does not come from the Watchtower Society itself. This book makes it possible to easily demonstrate from the organisations own text, to those with whom we talk with, that the Society most assuredly has falsely predicted the end of the world--and set specific dates for it's demise.
As with other reprints produced for the mass-market by Mr. Natas, this fascimile edition of "Millions" features bright, enlarged print nearly three times that of the original for very easy reading (although, Rutherford's laborious, blustery rambling remains intact...) and reference, and wide margins ideal for annotations and cross-references to other works. A Perfect-Bound cover featuring a fascimile illustration of the original title page makes this volume both light-weight, durable and easily portable.
At this price, this is one piece of historic Watchtower propaganda that should be added to every library collection.

The proof that the world will end in 1925
The Watch Tower Bible and Track Society, Inc had some discouraging times for any business during the second decade of the 1900's. The predictions for the year 1914 that the corporation had been printing since Charles Russell helped Nelson Barbour publish the book Three Worlds, in 1877, had passed unfulfilled. Charles Russell had died in 1916. The followers of the group split after the book titled The Finished Mystery was printed without approval or input of the directors appointed by Charles Russell. The surviving group needed a new challenge.
Millions

Living

Never
Die, provided that challenge. First delivered as a talk and then published in print, the book was a success . . . until it's bold predictions for 1925 also passed.
Rutherford claims in the book that the world had "legally" ended in 1914 and that millions of people then living would never die. The new date for it all is 1925. He writes his thesis like a legal brief. He presented his case as a claim, he presented evidence, he challenged the clergy, he insulted big business and wall street, and he laid out his prediction for serial miracles in 1925.
I obtained my personal original copy from a man who's father had bought an original copy from door to door book sales people in the 1920's and joined them after reading it.
The reprint copy of Millions Now Living Will Never Die is a very high quality copy. It's better than my original and easier to read due to the large print format. I appreciated reading the "Bible Citations in Substantiation" compiled by Clayton Woodworth in readable print size. The reprint is nice looking, affordable, and a valuable aid to anyone interested in the Rutherford era of the Bible Student movement. I highly recommend it. Gary Busselman

Suppressed Book is Resurrected
As a cult survivor I found this book to be a fascinating illustration of how these groups alter their teachings in order to survive and then hide these changes from their followers. Members of the Jehovah's Witness cult may look somewhat normal but their lives are manipulated by a small elite leadership k
now
n as the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society. This group teaches that the end of the world is imminent and the only way to survive this brutal apocalypse is to adhere to the leadership's detailed rules and regulations. However, this group has been announcing the end of the world for more than a hundred years and each date it has predicted has passed without the prophesied end. Because its earlier books contain these failed predictions the Watchtower Society has suppressed them, to keep its current followers in the dark about its own fallibility.
This book is one those that the Watchtower Society has tried to bury forever because it contains the failed predictions and doctrines from which this group has now back pedaled. The very existence of this book, now available in this excellent and bargain priced reprint, demonstrates that this is a religion of lies whose leaders issue these predictions just to keep their members in fear of their lives in the always looming destruction of the world. I was very pleased to find that this book still exists and if you are interested in the history and hypocrisy of cults that mutate their beliefs to suit the current moment and keep their followers ignorant it is a must read.

A public talk titled "The World Has Ended;
Millions
Now
Living
May
Never
Die" was first delivered on February 24, 1918 in Los Angeles, California. Five weeks later, on March 31, 1918 the title was changed to indicate absolute certainty: "The World Has Ended; Millions Now Living
Will
Never Die." The public talk continued to be delivered under that same title until 1925. The material was published as this book in 1920. This book may be of interest to students of human psychology and students of religious movements, particularly millennialist apocalyptic, "prophetic" religious movements. It is now republished in a larger, easy-to-read format for purposes of research, scholarship, teaching, news reporting, commentary or criticism. With the exception of the rear cover, every page is a photographically enlarged duplicate of the original publication. Once hard to find, this reprinting makes this historic book available at a reasonable price.
