Flying
Into
Limbo
was recommended to me and I read it thinking it would be good (since it was recommended)and that it would be about the medical world. It was not only all the above, it was also an excellent study of ethics. I kept asking myself what I would do in the same situation. I could hardly put the book down because I wanted to know how the problems presented would be resolved. I was not disappointed. Marifran Dirkes not only wrote an excellent book, she provided me with characters I really liked and hope to meet again. I was also amazed at the amount of research it took to write this book. Five gold stars to the author!

Flying Into Limbo- Riveting Tale of Medical Drama
Flying
Into
Limbo
is a compelling, riveting and thought-provoking mystery/drama set in the medical world. Author Marifran Dirkes has intricately and cleverly woven the pressures of ethical issues in the world of anesthesia with the broader human issues of dealing with death and grappling with complicated family problems. Piloting buffs will also enjoy Dirkes' insights. Her book is well-researched on all fronts (e.g. the medical arena, the legal system, flying airplanes, psychological pressures associated with death in the family). While providing us with a suspenseful page-turner, Dirkes has also given us a deep vehicle to reflect upon ourselves and how we handle our own relationships in times of challenge. This is a must read. It is not hard to envision Dirkes becoming the Turow or Grisham of the medical genre. I can't wait until her next one!

No reason to be in limbo about this purchase
This book is just spellbinding. I could not put it down. Multiple storylines and all of them interesting. There is a lot to learn from this book about friendship, family relations, and choices around life and death. The main characters seem like friends. I hated to say goodbye to them at the end of the book. What a great start of a career as a writer.

Flying Into Limbo - Excellent First Book!
I was very pleased with this book - it was given to me as a recommendation by a friend, and I was amazed that this was a first book by this author. It's a compelling, well written story, with characters that had depth, and it had you cheering for them by the end. I found the book entertaining and thought provoking - and the writing made you feel like you were part of the story. I have new appreciation for those who are part of pain management in the health care profession, and thought the author handled the subject with care and compassion.
