A book every Christian should read

I received this book free at the Willow Creek Leadership Summit, and fully expected to read it in about 4 hours, judging from its size and my normal reading speed.
Mr. Stafford related that during writing the book, he sometimes could write only one sentence before having to pause and cry; however, and I found that reading the book can be just as slow due to frequent prayer or cry breaks. Both Stafford's life story and his obvious compassion for those in need as expressed powerfully and clearly through his work in this book and life show that Compassion International has the best man in the job. Any Christian who believes Jesus meant what he taught and who wishes to be inspired to follow the 25th chapter of Matthew must read this work.

Must see for anyone working with kids

We ignore them they are just little, loud, disruptive, and of little value yet. That is how we often view children. Reading this book shows they can not be ignored, if they are our own, the neighbors or the kid in an African village. Sad many children would love to be ignored but instead have been singled out for abuse. TO SMALL TO IGNORE also deals with abuse in a missionary boarding school. Read it you will be shocked, broken hearted, angry and hopefully motivated to help all the children you can. Also buy the DVD ALL GOD'S CHILDREN about missionary children boarding school.

Touching the future

If you ask any successful person with integrity, "What got you where you are?" they will give you names of influential people who guided and coached them. This book is about touching lives when they are malleable. The measure of a society is seen in how it treats its weakest and most vulnerable members. These are always children.

This book is about affecting the future by impacting those who are vulnerable and it is solid gold. This is not a theorist, but a man who has been hurt as a "vulnerable member" and decided to make a difference through forgiveness and action rather than revenge. It works! Many books are good- and forgotten. This one will resonate with you for years to come. If you have children, work with children, love children- read this book.

It is truly a gift to be received. I've heard Wes speak and he is 100% genuine.

A Must Read!

A must read for anyone that thinks they have it rough. Wes Stafford takes you on a journey into the life of a missionary's son who grew up with a love for life, even when they didn't have "stuff" in their lives.
Wonderful book that teaches us that there is so much more to life then having things to fill our lives.

so good..

Wess truly has a heart for children. This is a beautiful book. I loved every page. This book is a must-read for Christians everywhere.

The time has come, argues Dr. Wess Stafford, for a major paradigm shift: Children are too important and too intensely loved by God to be left behind or left to chance. Children belong to all of us and we are compelled to intervene on their behalf. We must invest in children?all across the world.
There are strategic, persuasive reasons?beyond love and kindness?to invest in children. Today they may snuggle into your lap, if you let them. But tomorrow you may not have access to them in the corridors of power they might occupy. Now is the time to shape the future.
Dr. Stafford issues an urgent call for change. His adventures as a boy raised in a West African village provide an often-humorous and always-captivating backdrop to his profound and inspiring challenges. Wess lived the reality of ?it takes a village to raise a child? and calls us to ?be that loving village for children everywhere.?
This book will encourage you to turn your good, loving intentions into strategic actions and empower you to help change the world?and the future?forever: one child at a time.
