Jesus Lives is comfort for your soul!

When I was given Jesus Calling by Sarah Young as a gift six years ago, it was as if I had uncovered a treasure chest of gold. Not much has changed now that I've read her newest book, Jesus Lives.

Second in a series of devotionals unlike any that I've ever read before, Jesus Lives is written from the perspective of our loving Savior, as if Jesus Himself were speaking words of comfort directly to the heart of your need. Each page tackles another issue, a struggle perhaps, in the Christian walk-topics such as trust, endurance, adversity, peace, assurance, and intimacy with Jesus, to name a few. Each devotional is followed by several Scripture verses that support each day's reading.

The author herself says, "We will experience many losses over the years, but the one thing we cannot live without is the one thing we can never lose-Jesus' loving Presence. Even this great truth, however, many not be enough to carry us confidently through our toughest times, unless it is accompanied by experiential knowledge of Jesus."

Without any hesitation, I give this book a full 5 stars. If you are looking to really get to know Jesus experientially or you want to hear Him speak directly to your soul and quiet your fearful heart as only He can, I encourage you to read Jesus Lives by Sarah Young.

Jesus Lives

My first introduction to Sarah Young was when my very good friend gave me her book Jesus Calling last October during a girlfriend retreat. I was so blessed by that book that when Thomas Nelson offered her newest book Jesus Lives I ordered it immediately.

Like Jesus Calling, Jesus Lives is written in the first person as if Jesus is talking to you directly, which He is. The format is however, different. Whereas Jesus Calling is in a daily devotional format, Jesus Lives is separated by subject matter.

There are 46 different topics addressed in this book, but in the 359 pages these topics come up numerous times throughout the book. Some of them are Abiding in Him. Trials, Emptiness, His Presence, His Sufficiency as well as many many more topics that are pertinent to our walk daily with the Lord.

This book is great to be used as a daily devotion or as an encouragement and learning tool when you need a specific word to help in your life. The author includes the scriptures that confirm what is said and they are written out for you in case you are somewhere that your Bible is not handy.

This book is a real blessing and is a tool to give you understanding of the Lords love and care for you in all that comes your way.

Good book!

I really enjoyed this book! Every passage made me feel closer to God. I can tell from reading this book, that Sarah Young is very passionate about God. Love how the book is written through the voice of God.

A Devotional Book that Produces Inner Peace

Imagine a book in which Jesus speaks to you personally. As you turn each page you will find Sarah Young's interpretation of biblical passages to be inspiring. On the left are the words she imagines Christ would say and on the right there are the Bible verses that point to the truth of her message.

Some of the topics discussed include: Attitude, Brokenness, Emptiness, Endurance, Faith, Fear, Heaven, Hope, Idolatry, Peace, Prayer, Sorrow, Thankfulness, Trust, Victorious Living, Wisdom, Worry and Worship.

Sarah Young's desire is for you to encounter the "living savior." In this she succeeds. This is a beautiful book filled with messages from a loving savior. It is meant to be savored not read through in one sitting. It took me a few months to read through all the devotional passages but it was worth it. I think I will now read through it again. It really is that good. For me at least, it gave me a sense of inner peace.

Sarah Young Does It Again

Sarah Young has once again put together an incredible book. Her "Jesus calling" devotional has been with me for the past three years. I recently discovered her "Jesus Lives" book. It is a beautiful collection of scriptures designed to assist the reader in his/her walk with Christ. New Christians or other seekers will find scripture to guide them with a plethora of themes, such as adversity, freedom in Him, desiring him, and many others. I highly recommend this book.

From your heart's deepest cry to life's joyful praises, Jesus is in them all!

Knowing Jesus on a deeper, more personal level not only means sharing all aspects of your life with the Savior, but it means seeing Him at work in your life as well. Whether you're struggling your way through a valley or reaping a bounty of blessings, Jesus is very much alive and present. The question is, do you see Him? Do you recognize His voice?
