Fred Crach's Book Forty Years A Speculator is Priceless

I wish I had read this book before donating a lot of money to the markets several years ago. I especially like the strategies he spells out for profiting with gold and silver miners. They are a different breed of equity that can provide life changing wealth if chosen properly and this book will help you navigate the perils of market makers and manipulators along with your fear and greed.

Surprisingly, Mr. Carach lays out his blueprint for success with wit and humor, tempered with common sense and great advice.

I back tested several of his strategies and they were very profitable minus slippage and commissions. The strategies are designed with hedges to offset draw down. As with any strategy, you will have losses but the key is cut them short and let your winners run. Detach yourself emotionally from your portfolio and use money management for position sizing.
This is a great education for any trader/investor.

Author well explained his reason to pick mining penny stocks against blue chips. His thinking and opinions opened my eyes and gives me confidence to invest in penny stocks, something that I never dare to have a try before. I wish he can add up more on how he does fundamental analysis on the penny stocks. Overall it's a very good book for spare time.

Much more than I expected

I was casting around for different investment strategies when I happened upon "Forty Years a Speculator" in Amazons "Small Cap" section. The book contains an introduction to the penny mining stock world few people including myself understand. A world where stocks often fluctuate +/-300% annually! A world where 80 cents can buy you $52 in undeveloped resources! A world where companies that earn zero income for years can skyrocket in value overnight. A funny, easy to read, personal book from an individual investor who has profited by traveling a "road less taken". I don't finish many books but I read this one cover to cover. Then I invested my own money!

Great book, Great read, Author is very inspiring and offers sound advice.

This is one of the best books I have read on investing and I have read a few. After reading - it gave me such a sense of empowerment knowing there are other ways of achieving success contrary to the popular belief of the "Almighty Wallstreet" gurus striking 'one for the Gipper'. One finger doing the striking does not amount to much but ball all five into a mighty fist and you can strike a mighty blow. Kudos to the author.

Educational and Entertaining Book on a Unique Investing Methodology

I stumbled across this book in the process of researching penny mining stocks. . . and I am glad I found it. It is a great resource to learn about the niche investing topic of penny mining stocks and other areas that have been successful for Mr. Carach. This books presents Mr. Carach's non-mainstream investing methods and insights that he has acquired over many decades. The book's cost is a small price to pay to be passed along that kind of wisdom. I found the book entertaining and an easy read, and I am excited to pursue some of the investing ideas he presents.
