outstanding information

I got this book for my husband,who suffers from multiple heartburn/GERD symptoms and does not do well with traditional meds like Nexium or Prilosec. He has gained a lot of insight from this book.

Some good background information for GERD Patients

I am researching gastric reflux because of my long history with GERD. I have been on a PPI for almost 10 years now to treat my GERD. The author claims that long term use of PPIs will ultimately cause the continuation of heartburn and other gastric problems. My consultations with several Gastroenterologists have yielded little to make me wary of continued PPI usage. This lack of information about long-term side effects is troublesome to me. I will continue to research long term PPI usage. My goal is to get off PPIs completely.

Candida NOT the only thing discussed here!

I'm not sure people who commented on Candida read the entire book. Or, perhaps it's the only aspect that caught their attention. This does NOT only deal with candida!

The reason this book is as great as it is: Dr. Rogers never gives one theory or one fix for any one problem. She acknowledges every body is different. This is really important as simplistic as this sounds. Most books/doctors usually have only one quick fix for everyone. Regular drug therapy, whether prescribed or over-the-counter uses exactly that theory.

For those of us with more complex problems other than gastric (especially MCS) this may be the key for regaining our health. The other great thing about this book is if you don't have insurance or don't have access to a doctor who can help she gives alternative measures to guide you to the answers for good health. I HIGHLY recommend this book!
