Nut allergy book review
It is a sweet
story
and young enough for my 3 year old to understand.
helpful and cute
my 3 year old was just found to have tree
nut
allergies
and this book was a wonderful way for us to talk about it. we also took it to his daycare/preschool and had the teacher read it to the class. i also ordered "mommy, is this safe?" which was a good companion book to this one as it has real photographs.
Great read for pre schoolers
Chad
the
Allergic
Chipmunk
is an excellent book for explaining to my 4 year daughter what may happen as she has a severe
nut
allergy. It has now been lent to her pre school for the teachers to read and explain to her friends.

A great book for children that are allergic to tree nuts!
My 5 year old son LOVED this book. It brought tears to my eyes to see him sit down with this book after I read it to him and for him to flip through each page very slowly asking me questions and telling me what was going on on the pages. He has never reacted this way towards a book before so I know he was connecting with "
Chad
". I feel this book has given him a better understanding of his food allergy and I am very happy about this purchase.
Helpful little book
This book was pretty helpful for our 2 year old who just recovered from his first
nut
allergy incident. He is able to talk about
Chad
having a nut allergy which was our reason for getting it. The
story
is a little old for him as Chad is clearly in elementary school dealing with things like nut-free tables, bake sales, etc. but it's not a bad way to introduce future dangers as we learn to navigate a nut free world (neither of his parents have any food
allergies
)
One downside is it refers to Chad being special because he has nut allergies. That part we gloss over when reading it to our son, we want him to know he is normal, not special, because lots of other kids have the same. Otherwise, definitely a good buy (sight onseen).

Chad
the
Allergic
Chipmunk
helps
children
and adults learn about tree
nut
allergies
and how to recognize an allergic reaction. Chad explains nut allergies in a way that parents, teachers, and children themselves can talk about allergies and understand them better. Written by the author of Allie the Allergic Elephant and Cody the Allergic Cow, Chad is her next book discussing severe food allergies.
