Green Smoothie Revolution

Good information for anyone who wants to know more about the benefits of the Raw Foods Diet. The author has a very good knowledge of how and why this diet works firsthand by seeing the results from the healing that occured within their own family.


This is too easy ...

I know I need more vital nutrition in my diet. I've tried raw, vegetarian, master cleansers; I just find it difficult to continue things long term with my busy work and life schedule and my completely carniverous husband. I'd experimented with this "green" smoothies in the past, but this book surpassed my imaginations on what you could do with a few leafy veges and some fruit - that can literally change your life. In just a few easy minutes I can have an absolutely delicious drink that's extremely filling, energizing, cleansing, and clarifying. I take to work and now several coworkers are starting thier own green smoothie revolution. I'm starting to experiment on my own now ... like adding whole golden flax seed to my blender before the vege/fruit - and grinding for 20 sec - then adding all the other ingredients ... or adding different spice blends for say umm - apple pie green smoothies. What's even more amazing is that my husband is becoming a fan - he actually is starting to make them on his own even when I am not around.

Awesome Little Book!

I have been a strict vegetarian for 24 years and this is one of the best books I've come across to make being healthy really easy! So simple and loaded with facts and research to back it up. Great receipes and fun to read! Thanks for sharing your life with us!

Tasty Recipes that Converted a Hard Core Carnivore

I'm a carnivore and the idea of eating a salad and all that chewing is for the cows as far as I'm concerned. But this book changed my entire outlook on eating green. The recipes are simple and tasty, I've tried other books that have too much talk and not enough recipes.

I'm still a carnivore but have easily augmented my diet with green smoothies. I'll drink one 8-12oz glass of tasty green smoothie either for breakfast or dinner, and eat regular meals the rest of the day.

I didn't experience the miraculous extra energy others have but I can tell you that the green smoothies makes me very regular! No more bloating or constipation, which runs in my family. Amazing!!!

What also amazes me is that one green smoothie contains so much veggie and fruits, it's very difficult to eat that much green in a day otherwise! I use this book together with the "Superfoods" book, with great discussion on more unusual superfoods and how to add these superfoods to your diet. Maca, fresh bee pollen, chia seeds, rejuvalec...a whole new vocabulary of things to try and love.

The GOOD and BAD:

* luckily, the first smoothie i made was tasty sweet. i was happy i could eat kale in raw form without having to spend an hour cooking it and seasoning it to make it edible to me. the second smoothie i made was also edible and pretty tasty for being green. unfortunately, the last two i made were NASTY. i drank them to avoid wasting food and did not let my husband drank them.

in summary:
Sun Green Pudding - tasty, had kale, dates and raisins made it sweet.
Banacado - tasty. lots of dates. beware if you are sensitive to carbs. dates have lots of carbs and bananas as well.
Basic Balance (in the green smoothie for beginners section) - GROSS.
Morning Zing Smoothie (in the green smoothie for beginners section) - GROSS. too much ginger!!!

i advice probably staying away from the beginners chapter and sticking to the other sections. perhaps it's just that section that has bad luck

* if you are sick with the flu or something and need an immunity boost, i think green smoothies are a good way to go. just hope you get a tasty one or well, you may feel more nausea after
