I PURCHASES THIS ITEM FOR CHRISTMAS FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER AS A PRESENT. IN A WORLD OF ME FIRST MENTALITY IT IS SO REFRESHING TO RUN ACROSS A BOOK THAT IS ABOUT HELPING OTHERS WHO NEED HELP. THIS BOOK ILLISTRATES THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS BY A MODIVATION TO FORGET SELF IN HELPING OTHERS IN NEED FIRST.

I loved the "Christmas Jars" book! I was feeling down & depressed because my only child took his life in my living room with a 22 rifle while was I was in Nicaragua on a mission trip. He had battled drug addiction for several years. He was only 25. It helps me to focus on others when I am depressed. This book has given me a "mission"! It has inspired me to start my own "Christmas Jar" in 2010. Thank you, Mr. Wright for writing this book! This should be made into a movie! I purchased the paperback edition from Amazon.com for A LOT less than our local bookstores charge! I am very happy with my first purchase from Amazon.com

Inspiring story for all ages with a surprise ending

I and my teenaged Girl Scout troop read this book and it inspired us to start our own Christmas jar. Even though we only had a few weeks to accomplish our task, we managed to collect over $100 from friends and the girls themselves. We filled the jar with Christmas candy to top it off and added gold foil, ribbon and a card, then the girls took the jar to a local home. The stories they had after the delivery showed that they completely understood the happiness that comes from selfless giving and I hope they will each continue the tradition through the years. Christmas is not about what we receive, but what we give from our hearts, and no matter how little we have, there is always a way to share with others.

I had read this last year and bought 5 this year to give as gifts. Every person I gave one to said they read it in one sitting. Couldn't put it down and loved it.They have set up a jar and passed along the book. Everyone should have and share the experience of this heartfelt book.
