For obsessive, hardcore Terminator fans ONLY

This series was pretty much crap, though it was more entertaining than McG's "magnum opus" of poo. I enjoyed where they were trying to go, but the mish-mash of artists and the lack of true depth left me wanting my Sara Connor Chronicles back. Maybe Dark Horse's next Terminator series will be sweeter, they have improved their writing/art stable over the years... Still, buy it if you can get it cheap and feel like wasting an hour or two seeing where they take it and arguing with yourself over how you would have improved it... If you can only afford one of these though, go for Omnibus Volume 2, it's a little better fare.
Just for kicks, Dark Horse should acquire the rights to the three "NOW Comics" series and Omnibus them. They are even crappier, but it'd be a good hour or so of laughing hysterically at their attempt to seriously chronicle the adventures of "Sarah's Slammers" in pre-Terminator 2 terms...

Only if your a big Terminator fan, and only if it's cheap

I bought this at Emerald City Con (Comic book convention in Seattle), just because I'm a big Terminator fan and it only cost me $15, and I think I got my moneys worth on it. The story is different on its own level, where Sarah and John Conner aren't a main focus, which is weird but fascinating at the same time, so it allows for a whole new sense of creativity for characters and a story.
The art is done by various artist, and each chapter is written by different writers, so it's unique in that way, however can cause big trouble for how the plot goes, and character development.
All in all, some parts of it get boring, a little to out there in some parts of the story, each chapter was very well drawn, but it only caught my interest for so long. And it feels a little bit like extremely well done fan fiction, keywords "extremely well." So I would recommend it, if you can find it under it's original value, and only if your a huge Terminator fan

Surprised

I was nicely surprised at how good these stories were in this omnibus. If your a fan of the movies, Dark Horse really provides alot of extra in this volume. Not to mention for the price you get alot of TPB.

More Terminator!

My super husband was very pleased to receive The Terminator Omnibus, Vol. 1 for his birthday. He yelled, "Oh, wow!" upon opening the gift. He immediately tore into the graphic novel stories. He was totally sated that day. We are very pleased to have more Terminator in our lives.

Great addition to the original movie

The stories in this volume follow the original movie and are top notch. Nothing against Arnold, but it was nice to read some terminator stories not centered around his character(s). Not too heavy on social commentary like Dark Horse's Aliens comics, but there is plenty of action and it was a fun read.

They came from another time to ensure that the future would belong solely to the machines. They are Terminators - indestructible killing engines hiding inside shells of flesh and blood. Tireless, fearless, merciless, unencumbered by human emotion, dedicated to the complete eradication of mankind. But despite the frailty of human flesh, nothing is as immortal as the human spirit, and even the strongest metal will bend by the will of a mother fighting for the future of her children. Dark Horse Comics has long been regarded as the heavyweight champion of adapting film blockbusters to graphic fiction, and The Terminator is one of the finest examples of bringing top comics talents to the expansion of a premier action/adventure mythos.
