Sorry, NOT better than Twilight Saga

Hmm, how shall I put this... I'm 32 - and although I don't feel I was too old for Twilight - I felt I was too old for this book. It was OK... too much "best friends" crap for me.

If you are a 30 something wife/mother you won't get a thrill from this book. Although Twilight was "G-Rated" (in my opinion), it pulled at your emotions and left you wanting more. This book doesn't do that. Try JR Ward's books for something more steamy (not for teens!)

I won't be reading any more in the series.

Loved the book and the series!

I read the first 5 books of the series in 4 days - and didn't accomplish much else in my life during that time. This book is great, and the series is too. VA provides a little more meat than books like the Twilight series. There is romance like Twilight, but it doesn't drive the whole story. There is more action and the author has really created a world that has a lot of depth, as do her characters.

I love Rose the most, she is so strong and loyal and stands up for what she believes in. She is definitely not afraid to let others know what she thinks of them or anything else.

Parents should be cautioned that the f word does make a few appearances throughout the series and there are some steamy romantic interludes. I wouldn't prevent my child from reading the series though.

It's a great read and I can't wait until December when the 6th book comes out!

Don't Bunch This With Twilight

Okay, so this isn't anything like the vampire books gracing our main stream market. Instead of helpless Bella we have Rose, a confident, smartass (and sometimes badass) heroine who spices the whole book up and doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. This book is packed with romance between Rose and Dimitri, her mentor. This is something girls with a crush on a teacher can relate to. We also have Lissa, who, though a bit boring, is very likable. All the characters have depth, and this is a great read. Highly reccommended.

So Addictive

Originally, I wasn't going to bother reading Vampire Academy, because I thought it looked a little young. But I was told it was better than the House of Night series by PC Cast so I decided to give it a go. I am now a Vampire Academy addict, who can barely wait for the final book to come out. I haven't loved a series this much since Twilight. While the only thing it has in common with Twilight is vampires, it is the story of forbidden love that really draws me in. It's a definite must read for anyone into PNR.

excellent

This book was awesome, got me to want more and more. This is only the beginning book and once I read the other ones, I just got even more and more hooked! Amazing writing, you love Demitiri and fall in love with all the characters, I did. But I do want to say one thing about all the covers of the books, it really bothers me but does anyone notice that the girl on the cover always has blonde hair. It says in the book Rose has dark hair, almost black and if thats supposed to be her well it looks nothing like her to me. Sorry, had to say it, just dont like the girls hair on the covers. But if you want to know whether or not to read this, if you are into vampires, love stories, friendship and danger well you'll have to read thiS!
