A book that I read cover to cover without putting down

Nora Hobbs writes a story about Jeff Archer. a Border Patrol Agent, and Angela Weygandt, a student that was abducted while on a Spring Break vacation in Mexico. The story unfolds when Jeff is involved in a raid on illegal immigrants crossing the border from Mexico into Texas. Among the immigrants is Angela who claims to be an American but has no passport, money clothes or ID of any kind to prove it.

While waiting for documents to prove her claim, Jeff can't bring himself to leave her in jail. So, he takes her to his home. To pay her way for Jeff helping her, Angela cooks, cleans and generally makes herself useful around the house. She even gets a job!

The only trouble with all of this is that Jeff becomes attracted to her. When he learns what really happened to her in Mexico, he sets out to put the matter right. What happens next is full of "edge-of-the-seat" suspense. Nora Hobbs has again written a wonderful book that I read cover to cover without putting down.
