Excellent Cookbook for Real Life Cooks

This is a great cookbook for people who like to cook real meals for their families. It's full of meticulously tested, very clearly written recipes for tasty dishes to put on the dinner table - including dishes that even my toddler will eat! My husband and I both enjoy cooking and we own more than a dozen cookbooks, but this is the one we turn to week after week when we write the grocery list and plan meals for the week.

More than a cookbook!

The best cookbook I've ever had. Both beginning and expert cooks will get something out of this book. Everything is logically organized with each basic recipe explained and then expanded on with variations. Every recipe works as advertised. The equipment and product reviews are great too. I rarely get out my other cookbooks now.

Everything In Its Place

With this comprehensive compilation of recipes there's no need to dig in boxes and drawers for misplaced recipes. My only criticism: the ingredients for each recipe are presented in bold-face type (this is great!), but the directions are presented in a hard-to-read lighter type. This is very hard on "old" eyes. I have to use a magnifying glass when I'm reading the directions. Perhaps this could be corrected in future editions of this fabulous tome.

Handsdown, the best cookbook in my kitchen

Well written, clear and concise recipes and instructions. Also includes recommendations for tools, products and techniques. Wide breadth of recipes from ethnic to American. Has made me a better cook!!
