Summer Reading Is Killing Me
I thought "
summer
Reading
Is
Killing
Me" was okay because it was kind of hard to understand and they had some language problems to. I liked it too because I liked how it used the characters from all the books. They used the characters from "The 3 Little Pigs." They had good guys and bad guys. They gad a cage with the good guys in it. They had some bad pictures also. A bad picture was like they had the devil nude. Other than the bad stuff I thought it was awesome!
Summer Reading List
Hi, I am doing my book review on
Summer
Reading
is
Killing
Me. The author for this book is Jon Scieska. You can practically find this book in every library. Three boys travel through their summer reading book and go on an adventure.
This book is about three boys named Sam, Fred and Joe. They don't want to do their summer reading. Instead of doing their summer reading they would rather practice skating. Then Fred accidentally places the summer reading list inside THE BOOK. Then all of a sudden this green mist comes and sucks them in the book. When they are in the book in order to get back they have to get the book and take the summer reading list out. So they travel all through the book to get the list. Will Sam, Fred and Joe get the summer reading list out of the book? Read the book to find out more.
I recommend this book to 5~10 years old. This book is really funny so people who like humor will love this book. When I was reading this book I could not put it down. I hope you like my book review.

Great kid book
My students love this book and are now clearing out the library's shelves of the rest of the series. This book references many children's books that kids have read so they really enjoyed it!

Really good
This book was pretty exciting. I thought it was funny and really good. I would recomend this book to someone who wants to read a funny and good book. I think it was good enough for a young reader. I probaly would read this book again.
Fabulous reading for boys (and girls)
My son is dyslexic.
Reading
has always been a terrible struggle for him, and things have been getting worse each year. Now that he is in the fourth grade, he is expected to read a few pages from a novel every single day. We've had been through an ENTIRE shelf of books from the classroom trying to find one that captured his interest. He hated reading, and enforcing the 2-3 pages a night requirement was painful for him and for me. I knew instinctively that this was partly because reading was hard, and partly because the books he was bringing home simply did not appeal to him. If you can characterize a book as "female" these books fit the bill. Big on character development and relationships, small on action and humor.
I stumbled across this book on the website guysread.com. Not only did my reluctant reader read his 2-3 pages, but he sat down and read the ENTIRE BOOK in 2 days. I had tears in my eyes when I took him to the library to get the next few books in the series. You have no idea how greatful I was to see him enthusiastic about reading!
The book itself is actually pretty clever. I read the entire story in about 30 minutes after my son was done, and thought the idea unique and the writing entertaining and clever. The interplay between all the familiar characters was magic, and the bit at the end about the "generic female character" had me laughing out load. Seriously.
Unlike the potty humor books (Captain Underpants) that are an aquired taste for adults, this book has absolutely nothing that will make a grownup cringe. And, although I appreciate the purpose of Dav Pilkey's books, I am relieved to have a series for my son to devour that does not involve boogers, poop, and other kinds of potty humor. Trust me when I say adolescent boys do not need any more encouragment in this area.
My son CAN'T WAIT to read the next few books, and I can't tell you how amazing this feels. He can't wait to read. Who woulda figured??
