Wish I Had This Before We Went Cruising, But . . .

If you're already out cruising, this book isn't going to provide a lot of useful information -- it's more about what to think about before buying a cruising boat and outfitting it for your purposes.

I wish I'd read this before we bought our boat as it would have given us a better framework for a lot of the decisions we had to make.

Lived up to expectations

The book's content is highly relevant for the cruising or blue water sailor. The explanations, anecdotes, photos and diagrams employed throughout the book are easy to understand and very helpful. Well worth the read, and a great reference to have on a boat!

I've been sailing for twenty-five years. Nigel Calder has been writing and publishing for about that long. All of his books have proven to be valuable insights into different aspects of sailing. This book is probably his widest compendium of useful and understandable information.

Calder writes with a style that makes me feel that I am sitting in a room and listening to him.
