Bought this for my kid, she loves it. She loves anything to do with this series of books. She actually wants to read when it comes to the warriors, which is more than you can ask for !

Sasha's Adventures

Reviewed by Keith James (age 10) for Reader Views (1/09)

"Warriors: Escape from the Forest" by Erin Hunter is about Sasha who is running away from Tigerstar, a clan cat who wants to take over the forest and all the cats in it. She used to be a kittypet until she found Tigerstar and became his mate. Sasha sets out to find her old owner, but finds out that he is dead. Then, she strays onto a boat and goes out to sea. She finds a ship captain who wants to keep her but she knows she cannot stay for long. She is going to have kits soon and wants to raise them in the forest.

This book is part of the Warrior series. Although you do not have to read the other books in the series, you would enjoy this book more if you have read at least some of the other books.

I liked this book because I enjoy books about animals. It was interesting and adventurous with a great storyline. The only negative thing I have to say about the book is that it does not have enough action.

"Warriors: Escape from the Forest" by Erin Hunter is a good adventure comic book for ages 8-11 and an overall great book. If you enjoy comic books and if you like the Warrior series, then you will like this book too.

Decent

I enjoyed reading this book and I thought it had the best storyline so far of all the Warriors manga besides the rise of Scourge.

My main beef with this and the other manga in the series is that the drawings need to be of higher quality. I want a visual feast when I open these books. The drawings don't seem to be much better than what you'd see in a Saturday comic strip. One of the reasons to get manga is to really appreciate the drawings and I don't think these are as of high a quality as they could be.

Also I think it would be nice if they would do colored manga rather than black and white. I know most comic books are black and white, but if the drawings were as they are, then it would add more interest.

I'm looking forward to reading the third one because I want to see Sasha's kits.

One thing I do like about the Tigerstar and Sasha series is that it really did draw me in to Sasha's story.

Keeps kids entertained and wanting to read more

My daughter loves this book and all the other books in this series. I actually enjoy the book very much as well. Anything to keep her reading and as she enjoys these books she's going to venture out reading other books, so this has helped to get started on her reading path.

Tigerstar and Sasha

I really wasn't looking forward to this book, since the first one REALLY sucked, so I just bought it last week since I am obsessed with having every Warrior Cat book, no matter its rating. I was slightly startled to see that it was a bit better than I'd expected. Sure, it was, by far, nowhere close to a real Warrior book, but it had a kinda engaging plot line and left the reader with a bit of a cliffhanger, when she mentioned her kits being born. That's what I'm really looking forward to, seeing Hawkkit & Mothkit in Manga. Strangely, I read the summary of the next Sasha Manga and noticed that there will be a third kit called Tadpole. So maybe the books just go from dull, to okay, to good and it's going to get more interesting.
No, don't buy it, since it's honestly not worth 6 or 7 bucks for the slightly jacked-up drawings and small thickness, but you could borrow it from a friend or the library or buy it "for your Warrior Cat loving friend" and read it before giving it to them.
Hope this helped
