One Hundred Years of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!

Did you know that we are now entering the 100th anniversary of the PHANTOM story? The first installment of Gaston Leroux's novel Le Fantôme de l'Opéra appeared in Le Gaulois, the French paper in which the novel was initially serialized, from September 1909 to January 1910 prior to publication in book format in 1910.

To celebrate this achievement, a brand new Phantom Twitter stream has been launched to spread the word of the centenary and the latest news and developments concerning the Opera Ghost. Eventually it is hoped the stream will be used to release exciting new ongoing research currently being undertaken into the novel and all its subsequent adaptations in areas never previously explored. Good purchase

I was happy to receive my copy of The Phantom of the Opera novel. I had purchased one from another book store and it fell through. I was worried I would not be able to get it, but tried again and all went well. The book was in very good shape and came within the times it promised. I had a very good experience and would purchase from them again.

I loved the book, it was an excellent!

The book came very fast, and I enjoyed reading it. Ive seen the movie with emmy rossum and gerard butler but as a avid reader i know that the book is always better then the movie. So i am still not done with the book but i can write and say that the book is SO much better. Gaston Leroux was an excellent writer, that the reader feels that they are in the paris opera house. I love books and I love amazon. Keep up the good work!

The Original Opera Ghost

The Phantom of the Opera is about a tortured soul who inhabits the cellar of the Paris Opera House, wanting to be loved and accepted as he is, wanting as normal life as possible. This means being married to a beautiful girl, of course, and Christine is his reluctant love interest. He is called the Angel of Music because of his tremendous singing voice and his gift for musical composition and organ playing.

When his opera box is put on the market, he sends a letter of protest to the Opera house managers. The story is told from the perspective of the author and from the perspective of the Persian, the man who befriends the Opera Ghost.

We can relate to the Opera Ghost because we all have aspects of our lives that are ugly and we don't want people we care about to reject us.

The story is a bit bombastic and unrealistic, but the need to be loved and accepted for who we are shines through this classic novel.

This book is beyond great!!!

This book remains my favorite book of all time. I can't help but love it. I am sure by now you know the plot. If you are unsure if you want to read this book or not just go ahead and do it. You can't go wrong with this classic. Then after you have fell in love with this book go and buy a copy of The Phantom by Susan Kay. You can thank me later.
