Great Book All in All
I first read this
book
in the library of my middle school. I couldn't check out books because it was the last few weeks of school and they didn't trust us kids to return their books back to them before school closed. But the book fascinated me, to say the least. I came to the library everyday after school for the last few weeks of school just so I could read through this book. That's how much I adore it. I've always loved
Greek
Mythology and this book just made me fall in love with it even more. The stories are well written and hold your attention. The drawings are well drawn without being too overwhelming and taking away from the actual story.
Now why, you ask, do I not give this a 5? Well, after paging through the book numerous times, I found it a bit lacking in some areas. Where's the mention of Phobos and Deimos? As far as I could see, they only mentioned 1 of the 5 rivers that surrounds the underworld (Styx) but no mention of Lethe (except as the forgetful fountain) or the other 3 (Acheron and so on). And it only tells of about 8-9 monsters like the Hydra and Sphynix but nothing about other less known ones like Chrysoar or the Lamia.
I don't know, maybe if it were a bit more comprehensive? I know it's already something like 190 pages but I wouldn't mind it having even more. The stories are timeless and I just want to learn as much as I can about them.

According to son, this is THE book
My 10 year old son calls this THE
book
. The stories are easy to read and the illustrations entertain his imagination.
Still around!
I read this
book
when I was a kid (back in the late 70's & 80's)... it was great! Now I bought it for my son. He loves referring to the book when he's reading the Percy Jackson series. Although not very detailed, it is detailed enough for late elementary and middle school children.

THE MOS BEAUTIFUL BOOK ABOUT GREEK MYTHS
Oh, I love this
book
it's fantastic, the best book about
greek
myths
ever, nice pictures,
absolutely must have.
Well Worth Reading
This is a great
book
for people who are interested in
Greek
mythology. The stories begin with Cronus and finish with Helen of Troy. They are excellent to read and have terrific illustrations. My favorite story is Perseus because he defeated the Gorgan, saved his mother and saved a princess, Andromeda. This book is well worth reading!

Mighty Zeus, with his fistful of thunderbolts, Athena, goddess of wisdom, Helios the sun, greedy King Midas--here are gods, goddesses, and legendary figures of ancient Greece brought to life in the
myths
that have inspired great literature and art throughout the ages. Illustrations throughout.
