Skippy Jon Jones book

My grandson, 5, loves Skippy John Jones. The same is true for this book. Skippy Jon Jones is a lively little Siamese cat who thinks he is a chichuachua. It's a fun book to read to children, too.
As usual Judy Schachner has done an excellent job!!!

I was sure I had ordered this book but instead I received two of the same "Skippyjon Jones in the dog house" HUM! Does the fact I am being asked to review this mean I did order it? I never received this one but I love all the Skippyjon Jones books as do my grandchildren and the kids at school where I volunteer. Please note that these books come in different reading levels. I like the ones for older kids. They are perfect to read to young children and for second grade and up to read alone. Sure wish Amazon had a phone number so I could find out why this book got substituted.

Fun for Young Skippyjon Fans

I was surprised at the negative reviews here, so I am posting my own to balance it out.

It is true that this book does not have a new storyline; it borrows from the other books and has a matching-type game with certain objects from the story (e.g. gato tut, a bean, a sombrero) in both English and Spanish. This is definitely a game for the younger set, but my above-average 5-year old and her friends still find it entertaining. Younger kids LOVE repetition and books they can recognize/predict. I was bored with it quickly, but I am keeping in mind this book is not for me. Not our favorite Skippyjon Jones book of all time of course, but it is a fun diversion.

BOTTOM LINE: At least in my house, it entertains the person it was meant to entertain, and is something she can look at herself without needing me to read it to her. When she does want me to, it isn't very long but does allow more interaction than straight reading and also introduces some Spanish vocabulary.

Skippy Jon is the BEST!

This is a great mix of a game and a book. My daugheter loves Skippy Jon Jones. She also loves playing memory match games. This combines the two with a little Spanish language learning on the side.

Highly recommend this book series.

Not what I expected.

Read closely this is not a regular story book. It has a delicate pop-up game on it. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone with little one's who are still into grabbing. Also I think that if left out for children to look at, the game could very easily be destroyed and the book ruined because of it.
