Miraculous!!

In 1998 I inherited 64 acres of scrub/woodland in Arkansas from my Grandfather - It now looks like Hampton court, with rolling green lawns, a cricket oval and even a boxwood maze! Beautifully written, hauntingly wise, Cultivating Rough Ground announces an old writer of extraordinary gifts.

The soil around bath is full of annoying roman ruins, which doesn't help at all when all you want is a formal garden. This book saved me months of work in destroying several sections of mosaic tiling on my plot. They have been replaced with a beautiful selection of gnomes, plastic trellis and concrete fountains.
