I own all Five-Minute Mysteries books. The first couple were pretty good, but the last several were just awful, with unoriginal and mediocre problems. I was about to give up on this series, when I decided to give it one last try -- and this one did not disappoint! The problems are creative and interesting (and fairly difficult -- but definitely still solvable if you read the text carefully), and even the writing seems much crisper this time around! Ken Weber is definitely back in form. I look forward to the next one!

Not as exciting as other 5 minute mysteries

I have several other 5 Minute Mystery books by Ken Weber, so I was excited to find this one on Amazon. However, I wasn't as impressed with this book as with some of his other ones. This one definitely has a tone, and that tone is of mobsters and dolls. The tone for most of the mysteries is right out of 1950s detective pulp, which is fine, if you're into that sort of writing. I, however, use this book in my writing courses to teach organization and logic, and so this one didn't quite work with my students. But if you're looking for a good challenge, Ken Weber's books are definitely good for that.

Okay for short read when short on time, but some of the mysteries are much too predictable.
