Great introduction of the Bible for young children

This is a wonderful first Bible. It has colorful and great illustrations that will keep a childs interest. The multicultural depictions of people gives a well rounded inclusion of many different races of people. This helps a child to see God's love and acceptance of all people groups. While the stories can be simplistic and carry no monumental insight into the richness of Gods Word, I think it does do just what it is designed, and written to do. It whets the appetite in a small child and introduces biblical concepts and stories. The illustrations draw the child into the story. While some may be critical that the stories lack a true depth, I am quite satisfied with it. It was one of the beginner bibles I used in exposing my child to God's Word. He is now 16 and has developed into a serious and committed follower of Jesus. It may not be the be all end all in childrens bibles but a wonderful building stone in your child's foundational learning.

Great biginners bible

This is a great collection of bible stories! It uses appropriate language for babies/toddlers with kid friendly pictures. I'm impressed by the way it approaches all aspects of stories including the less happy details without being scarry. My only disappointment is that it leaves out a little too much detail sometimes (ex: only 3 of the 10 commandments were listed - but they got in "honor thy father and mother" :-) ) but that does allow for parents to discuss the teachings with their kids. Over all I'm very happy with it and so is my daughter.

Great book to read with your "new" little readers

got the book on recommendation from our church and really enjoyed reading it to our boys 3 & 5 Y.O. the stories are about 3-5 pages long which is perfect for bed time or a brief read.

My 3 year old loves this bible!

After being disappointed with other children's bibles having very little detail to the story and lacking authenticity, we picked up this bible and could not have been more pleased! The color pictures are engaging (I have the older version from when I was a child and the new pictures are quite beautiful!) My son loves to look at it in church and before nap. It has been a blessing to us and I'm thrilled that our son enjoys looking through his bible! Joanne

A Grateful Heart

My son received this book as a baptism gift and as an infant I began reading him the short stories. The length was perfect and the pictures captured his eyes. As he got older, he LOVED pouring through this Bible. Night after night I would catch him in his room--as a 3 year old--"reading" his Bible. He would look at page after page with great intent. Then, the next night point out pages he wanted to learn more about because the illustrations told him a story. Sometimes I think my son knows/understands the Bible more than I do! I love how this Bible has engaged my son and begun the foundation of faith for him. Does it give him all the answers at this young age? No, but it's a perfect foundation on which to build.
