Great "feel good" book
Sassy, funny, exquisite, but yet confusing! These are the few words you can use to describe this book,
Feeling
Sorry
for
Celia
. With a plot full of twists and turns this book makes you keep on turning the page. From the beginning I started reading this book; it was really easy to relate to. Any teenager, who reads this, can relate to any part of this book.
It starts off when the main character Elizabeth Clarry, finds out her best friend Celia, has run away. But at first Elizabeth does not worry because Celia does this all the time. Then Elizabeth is assigned an English project, she has to write a letter to a student from a different school, and that is when she meets Christina Kratovac. Soon their letter-sending relationship becomes a friendship. Soon enough they start talking about their personal lives, which becomes interesting. All this time, Elizabeth has become very concerned about Celia. She has not been heard of for several weeks. When all of a sudden Celia sends Elizabeth a postcard it turns out that Celia has been working in a circus! After Elizabeth finds out about Celia, she also finds out that her divorced father is going to be living by her mom & her. Even though her father is re-married she has never meet her step mother and brother. This makes Elizabeth crazy! With all these dilemmas going on in Elizabeth's life she sill tries to overcome her awkward teenage years.
This book although funny and creative gets boring at times. The author, Jaclyn Moriarty should have worked more on the climax of the book. It also gets confusing at a certain point because of all the extra characters; also because of the format it was written.
Aside all of the books down points', I though it was a good read.

WOW
Feeling

Celia
is such a heart-warming book. NO seriously though. It was so good. At first I kinda wanted to put it down but i kept reading and I am so glad that I did. I thought the ending was a little un-realistic but that's okay I liked it anyways. It felt like everything happened that could possibly happen in this book. From unique dinners to mischievous boyfriends, this book is awesome!

" is a funny, honest and all-around great book that I'd reccomend to anyone in Junior High/High School. The entire story is told through letters and memos.
The book centers around Elizabeth Clarry, a fifteen-year-old girl in High School. Like most high-schoolers, her life isn't exactly a picnic. Her parents are divorced and are both constantly trying to spend more time with her/do more fun things with her than the other parent, her dad is acting awfully suspicious -Why's he embarassed to be seen with her by his friends?-, her best friend is impossible to figure out and has ran away from home for no particular reason, and when Elizabeth runs off to find her all the best friend does in return is steal a guy she likes, her dog dies, she's not ready for a marathon she was planning on running and now her English Teacher is forcing her class to write letters to complete strangers. What she didn't count on was that the stranger she's writing would become her new best friend.
This book is great. It'll make you laugh out loud, and if you've ever felt overwhelmed at least once before than you'll be able to relate to Elizabeth. It depicts teeangers, friendships, relationships, crisis and parents in a "real" way, and the book never gets totally cheesy or totally angsty.
Highly reccomended.

Feeling Happy About Feeling Sorry For Celia

Feeling

Celia
by Jaclyn Moriarty Lizzie is facing some major insucurities. Her best friend Celia is running away which makes her think she sucks as a friend. She feels like she is spending too much time with her parents which makes her feel like she sucks as a daughter. She has never kissed a boy which makes her feel like she sucks as a teenager. The writ9ing style of this book makes it enjoyable to read!
fresh new ideas
This was a book with very believable characters. Liz seemed very much like a normal teenage girl. She was vulnerable, she had false hopes, and got hurt, and I just loved her.

A #1 Bestseller in Australia and Book Sense 76 Pick
Life is pretty complicated for Elizabeth Clarry. Her best friend
Celia
keeps disappearing, her absent father suddenly reappears, and her communication with her mother consists entirely of wacky notes left on the fridge. On top of everything else, because her English teacher wants to rekindle the "Joy of the Envelope," a Complete and Utter Stranger knows more about Elizabeth than anyone else.
But Elizabeth is on the verge of some major changes. She may lose her best friend, find a wonderful new friend, kiss the sexiest guy alive, and run in a marathon.
So much can happen in the time it takes to write a letter...
A #1 bestseller in Australia, this fabulous debut is a funny, touching, revealing story written entirely in the form of letters, messages, postcards?and bizarre missives from imaginary organizations like The Cold Hard Truth Association.
Feeling
Sorry
for Celia captures, with rare acuity, female friendship and the bonding and parting that occurs as we grow. Jaclyn Moriarty's hilariously candid
novel
shows that the roller coaster ride of being a teenager is every bit as fun as we remember?and every bit as harrowing.
