A Excellent Read continues

Two years ago, I was introduced to Peter Tremayne and his heroine, Sister Fidelma. Fortunately there were quite a number of books in this series for me to read. Master of Souls came out just as I finished my last Sister Fidelma book. I'm sad to say, that now I'll have to wait along with everyone else for Sister Fidelma's next adventure. To Mr. Tremayne: Please Hurry!

Master of Souls

This started out to be a promising read, and fairly quickly disintegrated into boredom about the story and apathy toward the characters. Guess I'm just not into page after page of involved history and name dropping.

As usual, Peter Tremayne pulls you into the far past and the gripping world of Sister Fidelma for another fast paced mystery. I love his work.

Tremayne has again caught and held our interest. Fidelma and Eadulf spar and spark, yet make things happen.

Sister Fidelma scores again

I have read all the books in this series, and this one was not a disappointment. The author's knowledge of the time period supports and enhances his ability to create a believable mystery for Sister Fidelma to solve. I recommend them to anyone who likes mysteries, especially the historial genre.

In January of 668 A.D., Fidelma of Cashel - sister to the king of Muman, advocate of the Brehon law courts and religieuse in the Celtic Church - is called to investigate the brutal murder of Abbess Faife and the mysterious disappearance of six young female religieuse while away on a short pilgramage away from their abbey. But when Fidelma and her husband, Eadulf, arrive, they are confronted with another violent murder under mysterious circumstances. One of the senior scholars was bludgeoned to death in the oratory.
With evidence of shipwreckers and the rumored figure of "The Master of Souls", a mysterious rabble rouser, roaming the nearby countryside wrecking havoc and raising rebellion, both complicating matters, the redoubtable Fidelma is faced with her most perplexing mystery ever.
