Yuummm

Christine Warren has me hooked. This book is different with the location being Las Vegas. Love Las Vegas. Lived There so enjoyed her descriptions of the locale and drew me into the plot so much more. What a great story. I reallllly enjoy her stories of the others. They just keep getting better and better. Can't wait for the next one. Keep it up, and I'll keep on reading. You can't go wrong with this book.

Great read

Lots of action, realistic storyline (except the were person part) and believable characters. I was rooting for the small town heroine up against the big city family members. You go girl...............

Part of the series?

I've read each of Christine's "the others" books and thought they were GREAT! However, this book was the weakest link, and I hope it is not a sign of things to come. Kitty and Max were too stereotypical, not fully fleshed out characters for me. I just wasn't drawn into the story at all.

I really enjoyed it...

I really enjoyed this book. It had a good story line, great characters, romance, sex, and humor. I really love this author her books a great for a fast read. When your done you don't feel any more dumb then when you started but they are light enough to finish in a day or afternoon.

I liked it!!

Poor Kitty has just found out she's a werelion and the father she thought was dead, is alive and living in Las Vegas. Since he's the only one she knows of who can help her with her new predatory instincts, she flys over from Tennessee to meet him. She is met at the airport by her first would be assassin who is scared off by Max Stuart, her father's heir apparent for the Red Rock Pride. One look at Max's yummy goodness and Kitty's ovaries sit up and take notice. He shows her around Las Vegas and soon it becomes pretty clear to both of them that there is something more than just a physical attraction between them. They are destined to be mates but unfortunately, Kitty's relatives all want her gone and the continued assassination attempts against her become almost commonplace. Max is determined to stick by her side and when Kitty is challenged for her right to be in the Pride, he's only too pleased to meet any threats head-on.

I really liked Walk on the Wild Side. It's much more attuned to it's animal side than any of the other, Other books, which made it interesting. Also the great Unveiling is rarely mentioned. This book was all about Kitty and Max and the Red Rock Pride and the titillating rituals of lion mating. They romp around and even mate once as their lion counterparts which I thought was weird and sexy at the same time. There is a lot of humor in this one and a lot of extremely painful encounters with greedy, ungrateful family members. Ugh, I don't think I've ever read such unabashedly greedy characters before. Kitty's relatives's attitudes were jaw droppingly over the top and if I was Kitty, I would have turned tail and ran. Max tries so hard to be a firm, aggressive male, which he is for the most part, but any time he got mad at Kitty I just wanted to swat him on the shoulder and go, awww. Kitty was feisty and sweet (love her name BTW) but her habit of saying "mamaw" and "papaw" was beyond annoying. *shudders*

There wasn't a whole lot of angst in this one, any resentment she was originally feeling towards her father melted away in lieu of the short time he had left and besides, she rationally concludes it's just not worth it. While it's too late to pick up as father and daughter, she can learn to like him but what she originally came out to Vegas for, she finds in Max. This was a short, sweet and sassy book and a nice addition to the Others series. Enjoy!
