Love the website? Get the book.

There really are some hilarious pictures in here, and it makes a nice book to have laying around. People have fun flipping through. Even my kids thought it was funny, and they're tough to please. Would also make a good bathroom book, and I mean that in a nice way. It's something you can pick up and read a few pages, get a good laugh, and then set aside for later.

I think I would have enjoyed this more.....

If I would have received a color copy of this book I'm quite certain I would have felt differently about it's meaning. I've recently seen FB posts on some of the colored images and they are FAR FUNNIER in color. Most of it is based on "matching color outfits" and styles that you must see in color.

All in all if you want a quirky gift idea or just a table book chuckle, it does just that.

Works better as a web site

You pick it up, you look at it, you laugh at it, but it isn't something you would keep getting use from. On their web site, they also repurpose their collection in interesting ways, like for a mullet contest. In the book, the photos that work best are ones you look at and don't immediately see what's so funny. That's where the captions come in. Many of the photos fall squarely in the "what were they thinking?" category. There are, I think, too many "filler" photos that could have come right out of anyone's family photo collection. Overall, I don't know who would want to actually buy this book, versus visiting the web site. I think it could be useful for aspiring professional photographers as a guide to what NOT to do.

Ouch....Memories

This collection of photos certainly brought back memories, most of them good, but some were painful and/or humiliating. The way we dressed, groomed our hair, wore our make-up matched what was considered "cool" in those days. What will future Generations look back and say about US?

Awkward Family Photos

Great book in great condition; arrived timely. Interesting to know people actually submittted their family photos for this book; very funny! My family photos do not look so bad after looking at these photos!

Based on the hit website, AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com (?painful, regrettable, horrifyingly awesome snaps of family bonding, you will laugh so hard that people in adjoining offices will ask what?s wrong with you??Esquire), this full color book features never-before-seen photos and hilarious personal stories covering everything from uncomfortable moments with relatives, teen angst, sibling rivalry, and family vacations from hell. Cringe at the forced poses, bad hair, and matching outfits--all prompting us to look at our own families and celebrate the fact that we're not alone. Nothing says awkward better than an uncomfortable family photograph!
