its was way to quick e read, but it moved the story along nicely as in the cannon (sp).I like anita over merry but i like meerry's men over anita's, make sense? Darkness and Frost are again a great team, Mac mar lyn branson whatever the sea gods name is cant rembemer right now is a great a character i like that he doesnt get it, the Fear delog (SP) is great i really liked him we need a scary fairy, but the mystery was just amutuerish, the ending was kinda cool but a let down at the same time. i just except better from LKH, but i still cant wait for her next 2 books.

Entertaining pulp fiction

This is the same as her others. Hot men, kinky sex, and slow movement in the storyline. I enjoyed it. Once Merry gives birth, this sort of behavior will be ooogy, but for now bed (or wherever ) hopping is part and parcel of this character. I was entertained.

Does LKH read these reviews?

If so, I hope she pays attention and fixes this series. I eagerly awaited this installment's release, hoping that the storyline would pick up. As so many others have said...such promise going to waste! Enough droning on about the characters' physical characteristics. And please, either make the sex interesting or skip it. I now just breeze past the "sexy parts" because they're not.

That being said, it's not awful. I'm hooked on these characters and will continue to want to see where the story goes. If the Anita Blake series is any indication, I may be waiting a really long time. If you're like me and have an investment in the series, you'll want to read it. It has its moments and is decent light reading. Personally, I can't wait to see how Merry's pregnancy is handled once she's full-blown pregnant, can't wear skimpy heels and needs to take a pee-break every five minutes!

Ms Hamilton, please...skip a year between books if you have to. I'd rather wait for a really good book than continue reading these and being disappointed. This fall, I'll be reserving the next installment at the library rather than putting it on my Christmas wish list.

Not as bad as they say

I thought the book was a lot better then most people stated. I read a lot of reviews and most spoke about how awful this book was, but after I read it I can say it was great. I do how ever wish Mrs. Hamilton would take a little more time to develope the plot. I loved how Barenthous stood up to Merry in the book, and how she is bringing the women in to the fold. I think the books could be longer. In end I have read this book three times now since it came out.I love this series.
