A photoshop book that's about Photos; great for photoshop newbies (like me)..

I love photography. By comparison, I only "like" photoshop. It is an awesome, powerful tool, truly. But it does a lot of things that I really haven't mastered or have no interest in doing. Some photoshop books are heavy with the things-I-have-no-interest-in-doing. This one is not. It's about the pictures, and about very common things you'll want to do to them. Very clearly written, not overly word-y. Plenty of images, and even though this book is older, you can still go to the website and download the exact images used in the book, which allows you to follow along very nicely. You are guaranteed an example suitable for each tutorial. Also, you really can bounce around in this book and read the chapters in any order. Written/screen-captured for Elements 5, this book companions well with later versions of photoshop (and the intro says it will function well with Elements 3 and 4 as well). There's not a lot of computer talk here, just lots of examples of "what to do 'if'____." (The screen captures are all PC, unfortunately, but there are Mac instructions here as well.)

Very helpful and easy to follow. If you want a step-by-step guide to correcting some of the most common photograph problems using Photoshop Elements, then this book is for you.

The best 'how to' book ever!

I found this book at the local library and kept renewing it because it was so helpful. I have elements 6 (the book is for elements 5) but this is by far the best book on elements photoshop that I have found. I have used it many times on my photos. If you are a beginner with elements like me then you will love this book! In case you are wondering, I have also purchased 3 other elements 6 photoshop books before I purchased this book. The first was 'Photoshop Elements 6 for Dummies', then 'Teach Yourself Visually Adobe Photoshop Elements 6' and last 'Photoshop Elements 6 in easy steps'. Now I can stop!
