This book is easy to follow and has been a great help. I am using it along with a class but could really just use the book and do fine. There are lots of books out there but this is a good starting point.

Photoshop CS3

Photoshop CS3 is the industry standard, I am an amatuer Photographer and found it easy to learn and use. Plenty on tutorials online to help.

I have used these books before and find them to be very helpful. They are clear and concise and the video's certainly help.

CS3 in the classroom.

This is the required text for my photoshop class at junior college. We read from the book every day and follow the assignments as they say straight from the book. The only thing wrong with it is that I wish they would of gone more in depth with the tools. The lessons that come with it are fun but I still wish there was a little more.
