The book Heaven by Randy Alcorn on CD
The subject and book were great but CD #1 was faulty. The Sound skips and is not understandable in last of 6 sections on CD #1.
Heaven Made Heavenly!
This book is so awesome! I've never read a book that opened up the Bible to me like this one has. This book isn't based on theory - it's based on Scripture. Passages in the Bible on
Heaven
never really sank in for me until this book came along. Now I get the picture so much clearer about what Heaven is really like! This book is a must read for every Christian and will open you up to a whole new world, literally! This book is a MUST HAVE! It's also a good witnessing tool for those who don't know about Heaven and where they will end up when they leave this world. Makes a great gift!

So Good... It Hurts
Heaven
... how missunderstood is it? To put it simply, I will discribe some incorrect veiws of heaven.
Many people believe that heaven is an unfamiliar place where we immediatly adjust to a new lifstyle; playing harps and polishing golden streets. These people believe we will not have fun or be creative. They believe we'll be slaving to do God's will and loose all desire to think independantly. And worst of all, these people believe we will have no memories, and everything (from entertainment to friends) will no longer be the same.
That view of heaven makes me want to blip out of existance, rather than go there. I'm a God fearing Christian. I never seriously considered heaven, even though I've thought long and hard about death. Although I'll die one day, I never considered what I will have to look forwards to. Randy Alcorn has saved me from despare.
Randy Alcorn discribes heaven with amazing detail. He discribes it as a place full of adventure, oppertunity, fun and friendships. The number one thing Christians desire is to see God in heaven. Randy agrees... but that's only the begining.
He says heaven will be a familiar place, and we will remember all our happy experiences from the old Earth. Not only that; but we will continue doing whatever work we love. We will be happy and satisfied 24/7. But we will also have willpower to make decisions as we go on living for all eternity. We will also be allowed to keep our old friends and make thousands of new ones.
Using a combination of scripture and logic, Randy Alcorn beautifully constructed this book. Even if you question his ideas, he said he welcomes your debate so he can correct his mistakes. There's lots of references and quotes from many intelligent people.
Even though the book is very thick, the writing style is simple. It's an easy book to pick up and read from begining to end. The grammer is not complicated and the vocabulary is simple. Also, Randy Alcorn uses a lot of example stories to help you picture what the answers to your questions are. Even if you don't want to read the book cover to cover, you can skip parts your not curious to read and get to something interesting.
The book discribes heaven as a nice place. So good, it almost gives me a headache to picture it. But now that my picture of heaven is clear, death doesn't sound so disappointing. Even so, Randy Alcorn gives us a lot of reasons to enjoy life before we die. It's a very opptomistic book, and a classic everyone should read.

HEAVEN Purchase Review
I had already read the book on loan from a friend. It was so good I wanted my own copy. Great book! I'll go back and read it again (and again).
Heaven, by Randy Alcorn
Randy Alcorn did a superb job of painting a potentially realistic picture of
Heaven
. He used numerous Scriptural references as well as his imagination, to come up with his descriptions of what may very well be what Heaven will be like for believers. I recommend it highly as a book that can encourage us in our daily lives and comfort us as we face the death of loved ones and our own immortality.
What will
heaven
be like? Randy Alcorn presents a thoroughly biblical answer, based on years of careful study, presented in an engaging, reader-friendly style. His conclusions will surprise readers and stretch their thinking about this important subject. Heaven will inspire readers to long for heaven while they're living on earth.
