Its more than just a marriage counseling book its a relationship counseling book. It helps in all relationships to understand how to communicate, hear and be heard. John Gottmans books read easily and give you many simple ideas on how to make life a little better by creating better relationships with your spouse, kids, and friends.

Great all round book for relationships

Concise, simple and straightforward, this book is a great practical guide to improving all relationships in your life. My partner and I were suffering a long bout of frustration and conflict and were close to calling it quits, and the content in this book made us realise we didn't have to go down that path. A really fantastic resource for people looking for real answers and practical ways in which to improve their relationships.

good content, small font

As always, John Gottman's books are wonderful and clear, providing tangible facts and tools for building a better relationship. I've grown so much just by reading his material. My only complaint about this particular book is that the print is SO small!! The small print makes the content more daunting and difficult to read. It must be about 8pt. font. This is thick reading to start with, but add the small font and it becomes arduous. I might buy the Kindle version just so I can enlarge the font. Don't worry...I'm not some old foggy with bad eyesight. Just a person that doesn't want to work so hard to digest this great information!

Fantastic book

I had read this book from the library first, so I knew it was a fantastic book. It really offers some true-to-life helpful ideas and strategies. I think John Gottman has gone beyond the obvious results of his years of research on couples, and applied it from many different ways and views of how couples can improve thier lives together. I bought it as a reference book, it's that helpful. Thanks for sending it along quickly, and it's in good shape too.
