A wonderful resource!

This book was really beneficial to me. It not only allowed me to blend mathematics with English Language Arts curriculum, but students see that math comes from all around us, not just a math textbook. I've used it during summer school when I taught 2nd graders and it was wonderful. Everything's there for you, so all you need is a trip to the library (for the book!) and a photocopy machine.

I also have Teaching Science with Favorite Picture Books, but I have yet to use it (no opportunities yet). I cant wait to use it though!

Valuable Resource

This practical book was such a valuable resource. It shows how to easily incorporate popular young literature with elementary math skills. I absolutely loved it! The reproducibles were wonderful. I used many of the lessons for my Math Ed lesson plans, and plan to use several in the classroom.

Helping the Visual Learners

Visual learners often struggle with math. They need to see a representation of the math concept. This book is the answer to that problem. Using picture books to teach math is a wonderful combination of math and literacy. There are lots of reproducibles to make the process easy. You won't be disappointed!
