Beautiful paintings, yet many of the cards are negative

This is a beautiful deck to look at, with inspired imagery painted by a noblewoman. However; her direction comes from a notorious figure in the industry, and it appears that the interpretation of many of the minor arcana suffer from this direction. In any given spread, a predominant negative cast intervenes within a spread which comes out very positive in other decks. For historical interest and the art, alone, it is worth the price. I would do a second reading with a more neutral or positive deck to check on the accuracy of any reading.

Beautiful Cards

This is a beautiful deck, but make no mistake, it was created to promote Aleister Crowley's religion, Thelema (Greek for "will"). These cards are the "gateway drug" of choice for Crowleyans who WILL try to recruit you given half a chance. They truly believe Thelema is the hope and salvation of all mankind. The group is hierarchical in structure and teaches that the "elect," those at the top, will reign over the masses (who are only fit to serve) in the aeon (age) of Horus. They've been saying this since 1904 and still no Thelemic revolution, but it's gonna happen, honest.

Although I have issues with Crowley as a person, his tarot deck is by far the best I have ever worked with. Be sure to get the workbook by Arriens to go with the deck. This is one of the few tarot decks that uses Kaballah, numerology, sacred gemoetry,astrology and basic tarot principles to create a comprehensive and thorough deck. the workbook will explain how to utilize the deck in the best possible way.
