Second edition really scored with me

Once again, Mary Jo Fay has hit a home run in helping folks to heal from difficult relationships. This new edition has helped me see for the first time that I too have been in a difficult relationship. Now I know the steps to take to get my life back. I loved the first edition of this book, but this one speaks directly to me. I agree with the testimonial on the back of this edition, which says: "This is THE Layperson's BIBLE for understanding, dealing with, and healing from difficult, narcissistic relationships." (And that testimonial is from a shrink and professor of psychiatry from the University of Colorado.) That statement is right on the money! Buy this book if you're still stuck. It's better than therapy.

If you're really looking to heal from a narcissistic relationship, this is THE book for you! I read the first Perfect Partner and it helped me so much. Now, this second edition has brought to light actual tools I can use to heal myself from the devastation I got caught up in. The 120 new pages of info completely separates this book from any of the others I've read on the subject who simply explain what narcissism is and to get yourself out of the mess. This one tells me how and I see the possibilities of actually making changes now, after years of therapy really only moved me baby steps towards understanding what my role was in the dance and how I have the power to actually change the dance with the right encouragement and insights.

When I read the original edition of "When Your Perfect Partner Goes Perfectly Wrong," I was so glad to have something that helped me better understand the crazy, convoluted world of dealing with these difficult people. And I was so glad to learn I wasn't the only one facing some tough people out there.

This new, second edition, however, utilizes most of the 120 new pages of healing strategies to help victims take their lives back, heal, and find peace within themselves by better understanding what life patterns got them into these tricky relationships to begin with. Mary Jo shares with readers her personalized tips and tools that she uses in her one-on-one consults with clients who are seeking help. If you can't afford a therapist or to hire Mary Jo herself, then this is the next best thing.

Wow... I wish I'd had this book a long time ago. It has totally changed how I look at relationships. The author has been in the trenches and really understands the narcissist mind!
I highly recommend this book. In fact, I wish it was required reading for everyone. The world would be a very different place. It is that powerful. A++
