Get This Book While You Can

People frequently label a book a "must read." In this case, I think the label fits. Horne's book is not a rehash of old stuff; it is a seminal work which cuts new ground on many issues, including the Zapruder film. But, unless you are a devoted student of the assassination, his book(s)will probably be a tedious read.

Douglas Horne has meticulously dissected some of the larger controversies of JFK's death such as the autopsy photos, the X-rays,and the Zapruder film's authenticity. He concludes that much of the existing evidence is tainted (or in some cases missing) and he gives the reader a clear roadmap to his conclusion that the assassination of President Kennedy was no quirk of fate.

The primary strength of Horne's book is that it is, for the most part, based on the work of the Assassination Records Reveiw Board (ARRB, a board set up to review and release government records about the assassination. Horne gives the reader ring side seat to the ARRB evidentiary proceedings. He explains what they did, why they did it, what they found, and what it means. He is credible precisely because he was there!

Specifically, the ARRB staff conducted a lot of interviews, both sworn and unsworn, seeking to clarify the record on several important issues -- including the autopsy photos, the genuineness of the X-rays, the transport of the President's body and the actaul appearance of his wounds. The results are startling! It is fairly clear that there are missing autopsy photos, missing X-rays, strange departures from customary protocal, and strong evidence of a surgical alteration of JFK's wounds prior to the "official" autopsy -- to name a few of the problems. If this sounds bizarre; it is. It is just as hard to believe today -- as it was 30 years ago when David Lifton first raised these issues. But the record is there -- if you would like to see for yourself.

Horne's book would have made a material contribution to our understanding of the assassination -- even if all he did was to describe the evidentiary anamolies the ARRB staff found. However, Horne did not stop there. He minutely examines the primary evidence, bringing forth new information and tying the threads together into a coherent whole. I like and admire Horne's honesty and his willingness to share how he got to a specific conclusion. I think he ventures too much into the realm of speculation from time to time (his analysis of "why" JFK was assassinated in Volume 5 comes to mind), but I can forgive that in light of the other strengths of his work.

This review would not be complete without reference to Vincent Bugliosi's massive tome, Reclaiming History. Bugliosi is not the final word on this matter despite claiming to be. The primary problems are three-fold. First, Bugiosi's massive book is more a prosecutor's brief than a search for the truth. Second, if the primary evidence is tainted, the conclusions drawn from it will be tainted. Third, Bugliosi ignores the larger context of the JFK assassination -- essentially treating it as an isolated event. He, above all people, should be interested in Jack Ruby's backgorund, Oswald's intelligence connections, and the strange evolution of events before and after the assassination. Nope, doesn't matter --- not in Bugiosi's mind. Dismiss it and move on with the imaginary prosecution. If you read both Bugliosi and Horne, I think you will agree Horne is closer to the real truth.

Finding the truth is still important. If the government,itself, can thwart the will of the people in pursuit of its own agenda, America as we think we know it (and knew it) no longer exists. It is then a pseudo-democracy with the appearance of elected leadership but not the substance. That is not the America I want for my children -- or anyone else's.

Horne's book will be dismissed by the mainstream media and the "wingers." But, I think he has made a material contribution to our understanding of not only that event, but the wayward drift of our country over the past 50 years. Buy Horne's book before it disappears from availabilty.

Horne IV on preautopsy, Zapruder alteration

I found this 390-page volume to be exceptionally valuable on its two main points, that there was a preautopsy at Bethesda to alter evidence, and secondly, that the Zapruder film was altered.

Horne presents testimony indicating the arrival of the body at 6:35 with Humes wielding a skull saw in the 6:45-7:15 period, then feigning surprise with Siebert and O'Neill's recorded remark re "surgery to the skull."

Horne presents lengthy technical proofs the archive Zapruder is not the Dealey camera original; that Kodak's Zavada is not credible; that two events occured at the CIA NPIC: I with Bruglioni Saturday 23 Nov; II with McMahon Sunday 24 Nov.

These two factors, the preautopsy and Zapruder alteration, are each conclusive proofs of conspiracy, crossfire, coverup; together they present as unarguable proof.

QED coup d'etat.

Which is not to say that everything Horne writes is universally accepted--rather, it is a rich presentation of the results of many researchers over the decades which is stimulus for thought and discussion.

Important Piece of Work

Mr. Horne has given us explosive evidence in the revelation by Dr. Thornton Boswell's identification of the rear of JFK's being blown out by a shot from the front. If the media had any interest in revealing the truth, this would be a huge story, but it has been ignored by the major media.
Mr. Horne should wear any criticism leveled at his work as a badge of honor. The men and women who have fought to tell the truth can often be identified by the "name calling" and slander thrown their way.
If you have an interest in seeing solid evidence that clearly portrays what transpired in Dallas on 11/22/63, Mr. Horne's work is an excellent place to begin.

An Extremely Important Work

Douglas Horne has spent as much time unearthing the true facts of the JFK assassination as the Government has spent obscuring them. This is a masterful piece of work.

To sum it up as briefly as possible (it doesn't really begin to, but at least it's a start:

The medical evidence is the most crucial "witness" to the murder of our 35th President.

This book summarizes that evidence thoroughly and "in the light of day."

It's conclusions are dramatic and historically compelling:

1. The fact of "multiple casket entries" to Bethesda is verified;

2. Surgical alteration of the President's wounds PRIOR to autopsy is verifed;

3. Multiple witnesses, who were medically and otherwise credible, confirmed that they clearly saw an entry wound in the FRONT of President Kennedy's head, in his upper right forehead at the hairline.

There is much, much more. But the above 3 points themselves are incredibly compelling evidence.

So thank you for slaving-away many a night on this work, Mr. Horne. Many an open-minded citizen, both now and in the future, will thank you sincerely for it.

An incisive and compelling read- this breaks new ground and is a must read for all

There has been a library-full of books and almost as many theories about the JFK assassination and two main US Govt inquiries and several smaller ones on aspects of the case but finally it is now proven- note "proven",not speculated or guessed at- beyond all doubt in Doug Hornes devastating 5 new books "Inside the Assassination Records Review Board" (short title) where he became Chief Analyst for military records,that JFK was assassinated in a coup d etat in Nov 63 thus showing that Garrison. the courageous Louisiana DA around whose investigation Oliver Stone based his famous film "JFK", was right way back at the Clay Shaw trial in the late 60s.

The huge strengths of Mr Hornes compellingly-argued and wide-ranging evaluative work are both his intimate knowledge of and his objectivity towards the background evidence,especially the medical evidence, built up over many years, to which has been added an equally detailed knowledge and understanding from released records and new interviews especially from those who took part in JFKs highly compartmentalised autopsy at Bethesda Naval Hospital which Mr Horne is therefore able to meticulously put together with a minimum of speculation and a maximum of reasoned and logical inference from the known and uncovered facts.In most cases these facts speak for themselves such is the precision, depth and overview of Mr Hornes research and his deep concern and honesty over the evidence itself.Where the evidence is not 100% for any judgment or opinion Mr Horne reaches, and he is right to presume his readership wants such evaluation ,he tells the reader this is so, and always allows the reader space to reach his/her own deductions,true marks of a liberal historian of deep scholarship and personal integrity.

These would be reasons enough to buy these volumes,but the above paragraphs merely scratch the surface of Mr Hornes immense achievement in that with gentleness of touch and with true grace towards those who came before him he has moved on and focused many vital and difficult aspects of the case - too numerous to mention here- which have been floundering over the years and have needed the light and objectivity of a firm redirection and reassessment and more importantly still he has developed and exposed 2 vitally important paradigm shifts/revolutions in the interpretation of evidence, not only of what happened at the autopsy proving- again the word "proving" is used very carefully- that there were 3 casket entries that evening and that the Dallas casket was empty when it traveled from Andrews Airforce Base to the Naval Hospital and in fact the Presidents body arrived there in a body-bag in a cheap shipping container some 30-40 mins earlier than official FBI records have shown ,but also in an elucidation of the most currently contentious aspect of the case, the authenticity of the Zapruder film.

Here Mr Horne moves away from the intricacies of film processing which he has nevertheless mastered towards a highly persuasive tour de force of special visual effects through aerial imaging on an optical printer thus moving the debate into a new orbit,utterly wrongfooting the Zavada Study,and establishing a vital new freshness and relevance,a reevaluation of methodology which has found a close new ally in the specialist Hollywood Research Group ,all experts in film restoration,where initial results are entirely corroborative of the use of special effects ,in particular the use of applied patches to parts of the film,especially to cover JFKs severe rear head wound, evidence of a Grassy Knoll frontal shot,the same wound as seen shortly afterwards by doctors at the Parkland Dallas hospital, but later entirely and perversely contradicted by the 3 pathologists at Bethesda.

Additionally in this Chapter in Vol 4 Mr Horne exposes severe weaknesses in the films chain of custody and reveals two separate film events which took place on successive evenings at the National Photographic Interpretation Centre during the weekend immediately after the assassination,interviewing witnesses who participated separately in these compartmentalised events ,each group acting in complete ignorance of the other event,and persuasively leads the reader through the testimony of a main witness from the 2nd event on the Sunday night of where the film from which he was preparing blow-ups for briefing boards had come from that very night , into a compelling examination of where the aerial imaging was carried out, at a secret CIA facility attached to Kodak in Rochester,which the witnesses from both events said "could do anything" with film.

That these are dynamic and shattering deductions leading us towards a much fuller understanding of the coverup of the JFK assassination is self-evident.That apologists of the official fiction that one lone nut had 2 lucky shots which no expert could ever replicate have been left gasping for breath by Mr Hornes boldness and empirical self-criticism is equally so,their response again being a feeble populism which may continue to fool some,but the truth will out,and Mr Horne has put that truth out there,at serious personal cost , and demands our admiration and sincere gratitude for his labor of love over 13 years.

Liberals who saw 3 of their world leaders ,JFK.MLK and RFK all killed by "lone nuts"over a period of 5 years from 63-68 may now know at least that the first of these, a US President who coolly defused the greatest ever world crisis in Oct 1962,when World War 3 was literally a hairs breadth away,was most certainly not the victim of 2 impossible shots by the patsy Lee Harvey Oswald but indeed was murdered by forces within the National Security State which combined to engineer both a Secret Service stand-down in Elm Street and an autopsy which was far more than merely negligent, as one limited hangout would have us believe, but involved a deliberate suppression of evidence of frontal shots by pathologists who like all the technicians present that evening,except the morticians who provided valuable new evidence to the ARRB, were under military orders and were warned in writing in documents they had to sign that they would be court-martialled "and live to regret it" ,should they ever speak openly about what they had witnessed on that fateful night.
