Great for do-it-yourself wedding catering

This book is wonderful - I had no clue how much wine to buy for a small wedding of 50 people! After reading this book - I know the answer and lots more like there is an exceptional way to set up the order of a buffet line. I have not tried the recipies yet, but from the other reviews I can tell they are good!

Best Party Book I've Read!

Denise Vivaldo has done it again with a party book that actually gives practical, step-by-step directions. So many books look great, but when you read through them, they are just fluff. Not Denise. Her book spells everything out in detail--even to the point of telling you how to fix burned food, overcooked vegetables, lumpy gravy, etc. Let's face it--mistakes happen. What can we do now??

I also really appreciated her correct table layouts for those of us, like myself, who are "table setting challenged." Oh, so that's where the bread plate goes!

I am looking forward to trying out her recipes. They look wonderful.

Awesome Advice

My mother, the hostess, was very exited when she came across this book. She loves to decorate, host parties and looooves to make things perfect. I, on the other hand, really did not care for party planning or anything of the sort. But when I read this I was amazed. I could not believe how simple everything is. And since I will start hosting dinners I need some type of hosting skill. Thanks to Denise Vivaldo I have some expertise on how to set dishes on a table, and overall how to make arrangements (location, menu, style, etc.)This book is fun as it is simple, with a plethora of great ideas/tips. I'm not afraid anymore! Excellent book. Great buy.

No cook should be without

I first rented this book from the library, it was such a help and packed with so much information that I decided to purchase a copy to have at my finger tips at all times. It's filled with all kinds of information for any cook not just party information. Excellent book.

It is an amazing book!

It was a really helpful book that I'm sure if you buy, you'll love it! It really does help with planning, not only the food, but organizing your tables, what to serve with the meals, and ideas for parties! I'll be holding on to this book for years to come I'm sure. And the chili in the book was a HUGE hit! I'll be making it again!!
