a life saver

For whatever reason, it became impossible to download movies from my daughter's old Canon camera via the existing cable. So I tried this little device, inserting the compact flash card. It worked perfectly, and now everybody is happy.

Works great for SD,CF, xD.

Not as fast as a firewire 800 reader, but cheaper. if you are in the market for a usb 2.0 reader, this one is great. Of course, with the USB 3.0 getting more popular look for Kingston to come out with an updated version.

This product does indeed work and, overall, I'm pleased with it. However, inserting a card into the SD slot is, for lack of a better word, difficult. Not that they don't fit; it's that it's too easy to mis-insert the card at some sort of angle and not have it seat properly. It takes a little bit of "adjustment" in the insertion to get it right. The only other card I'm using in this is a CompactFlash card and that works just fine; easy to insert and all.

Great for older computers that don't recognize SDHC

I purchased this card reader primarily because my PC does not recognize Micro SDHC cards in SD card adapters natively. This is truly plug and play and I have had no issues using this with my PC, Macbook, and Macbook Pro. It works great with standard SD, Micro SD in SD adapters, and Compact Flash cards I have lying around in various devices.

This reader comes with a short USB extension cable but I just use the reader and its 3" cable and let it dangle from USB ports for portability.

Best rechargeables I've found so far

I've only used it on 4Gig cards so I don't know if it will work on 8 or 16 gig cards.
I've only used it with SD cards, so I don't know about other media.
