Great if it doesn't come broken, but it just might....

When I bought StarScream his head was loose in the box, and his right hand and thumb was as well. Since he is in Jet mode when you by him it's impossible to tell if pieces are missing and the loose ones get pined down behind the toy. So a quick shake before you buy isn't much help. The head ~~did not~~ fit into the socket provided, and the arm was glued in such a way that it was wider than the hand and thumb. So they did not stay in place.

When my TFA BumbleBee figure had some issues with non-working extras I didn't think much of it. Some accessories didn't fit/work like they were supposed to. StarScream turned out to be missing pieces. Put that together and that makes the TFA line two for two for the "almost more trouble than it's worth" category.

I checked the instructions to make sure I was transforming it correctly. It turns out that it was even missing a few pieces. I then checked several transformer forums. There were multiple pages of TFA figure issues. Six other people had the same problem with the loose hand and the non-fitting head. I returned the item to Wal*Mart where I purchased it and got a new one. The new one seems to work just fine.

However I'm not so sure I'd trust it to be transformed over and over again. Some of the pieces are small, and the quality of this line is too touch and go in my opinion for this reviewer to say "Yes this is a great toy". It might be, it might come broken, it might break.

It's a real shame! StarScream is a popular character. My suggestion would be to buy this toy locally, open immediately, transform, and check all parts against the instructions before giving it to a child. (or leaving the stores parking lot for that matter).

As it stands I'm an adult fan and the figure will sit on my desk or on a shelf, so it fulfills it's purpose for me. Kinda breaks my heart to give StarScream a bad review! For shame Hasbro!!

Transformers Animated Starscream features dual projectile-firing cannons. Starscreamâs jet mode is predominantly slate grey and red, with an amber-colored cockpit bubble; in robot mode Starscream is a lanky, heavily caricaturized robot with apparent articulation at the shoulders, elbows, waist, hips and knees; the projectile-firing cannons appear to be joined with Starscreamâs black gauntlets. Animated Starscream is perhaps best identified by his beady red eyes and an enormous chin second only to the one sported by the Lord of Darkness in Legend. As with many, many Starscreamâs incarnations, the Animated Starscream is a craven, opportunistic would-be despot disliked by both Autobots and Starscreamâs fellow Decepticons alike. Starscreamâs level of power is cited to be a near rival to that of Megatron---a realization which must inevitably tempt Starscream to the point of near-insanity.
