i'm not usually a beefjerky eater. but, this beef jerky had a smooth yet firm texture and and outstanding flavor. frankly, i couldn't tell that it was teriyaki flavored. it just was very good!
Tasty and Chewy...Very Chewy
I enjoyed the smoky flavor of this jerky, but the meat was tougher than I care for. I probably wouldn't choose to eat this again.
Hey, I Can Actually Eat This!!
Admittedly, my review may not be attuned to the many jerky aficianados out there - I have always thought the stuff tasted like a shoe dipped in barbecue sauce and left out in the sun for a year. On a whim, I decided to try Mr. Z TeriyakiFlavored Jerky - I guess I thought teriyaki flavored shoe leather might be memorable.
Surprisingly, I liked the stuff. It was much less leathery than other jerky I've tried - I don't know if it is characterstic of the brand or just this particular variety. The teriyaki flavor was quite evident without being overpowering. You could also actually taste beef - a new experience for me eating jerky even though it's made from the stuff.
While I have not added it as a regular snack, it's something I could try again. I'll never be a jerky fan but this is a welcome deviation from the usual leathery concoctions. Hey I can actually eat this!
Mr. Z's Teriyakijerky is not at all that impossible to chew mass that was what we thought "good" as kids. Instead, there is the chew, but a consistent, softer chew with every delicious bite. There is NO heavily salted taste, yet, the Teriyaki flavoring is a brainstorm win!!!
Remember the commercial "you just can't eat just one"? Well, my advice to those who take Mr. Z's Teriyaki along on hikes, or climbs up Mount Everest to piles of paperwork on your desk's at work or home, take an extra bag, or two, as you will run out before you finish your "adventure".
