fast and silent

OCZ branded product manufactured by Samsung. HDTune shows transfer rate averaging 169.5 MB/s for read. This is 3.8x faster than the mirrored pair of hard-drives I boot from.

Plus they are absolutely silent.

Don't expect too much

I bought this drive to replace the Western Digital hard drive in an Acer Aspireone. Since this will require a warranty voiding rebuild I have tested the OCZSSD2-1S64G in a Dell 640m running Vista Business which had an old Momentus drive (7200.1) with specs almost identical to the WD drive in the Aspireone. The result - still takes over a minute to boot. Noticeable improvement in reading data however (eg loading Reason .aif files). Programs such as Spybot Search&Destroy remain painfully slow. I will probably replace the Momentus with a Scorpio Black (I need the capacity) unless the Intel Extreme SSD's live up to their hype.
