We bought another even though the first died after 18 months

Bought the first one for my father for Christmas. He loved it and used it several times per week. Started having same problems as others reported with it switching off for no reason. My dad still loved it. Then it completely died after 18 months. My dad was disappointed but still a fan. So I bought another one for him for father's day. Planned obsolescence? At least my dad is happy!

I've always wanted a slow cooker. From reviews, I found this HB programmable slow cooker seemed the best option. Finally got some money and pulled the trigger. No regrets and I've used it 5 nights in a row. I've made pot roast, bbq chicken, chili, and chicken soup. Takes 5-10 min to prepare the food. Just throw it in. Wake up in the morning to a seriously tasty, warm, delicious meal the whole family can enjoy.. Even after the machine is turned off for several hours, the food stays warm! Great programmability, simple to use.. 5 Stars!

is ok, but...

just received this and it works ok so far, however: the first meals i cooked with a 'slow-cooker' cooking bag left food with a decided 'plastic' and long-lingering after taste.
