It really works!

Like the title says, it works. Good, inexpensive sharpener. Will still need to get your knives professionally done on occasion.

Better than I expected.

It was cheap so I gave it a try, turns out it's actually a very good sharpener. I thought the built in sharpener on the knife block was ok until I used this. You will actually remove steel shavings from the blade to form the correct angle with the rough side and basically polish with the fine side. My set holds the edge quite well but that will depend on the quality of knife you have. Definately will buy another for when the current one wears out.

Excellent Economical Sharpener...

I bought this very same Edgeware sharpener at a local store here recently. I own a hand held Accusharp that I picked up here on Amazon a while back as well. The more portable Accusharp is an excellent sharpener as a hand held device, but it is neither a convenient table top sharpener, nor one that provides a two stage honing system. I ended up purchasing this table model sharpener for I wanted something for an additional kitchenette in the basement. And it is one of the very few available two stage table models that is manual, and, comes at a very reasonable price.

This small but very capable sharpener works wonderfully in my opinion. It is very sturdy and easy to use, and in my opinion its two stage system provides the very sharpest edges that are possible without resorting to a time consuming whet stone system. The rubber grip on the bottom secures it to any smooth surface easily, and the molded grip on the side is well designed for added stability with your hand. I have had excellent results in sharpening all kinds of knives with this unit. The key to its working most efficiently is not putting too much pressure on your strokes and letting the grinding stones do the work. Two or three slow even swipes on each stone and you are all set to shave with any knife. I have never had knives so sharp in my home. Its small and even attractive enough to keep on a counter or shelf, while at the same time being small enough to tuck away between jobs if that is your favor. I highly recommend this fine little sharpener. Its price here is a little cheaper than I paid for it locally, and as of this writing ships for free when bundled. Inexpensive Excellence

This is a magnificent little sharpener. As a former professional chef, I can honestly say if this product had been available twenty years ago I would have had one. When the blade dulls the work is slower and more likely to result in inferior cuts and accidental cuts. If you follow the instructions you'll have a razor sharp knife in about one minute. For the money, this is the BEST product for the kitchen I've seen in years! Thank you for making my food prep easier & better.

Edgeware Grip 2-Stage Knife Sharpener is lightweight, portable, and easy to use on either a flat surface of the edge of your countertop or table. Carbide blades and crossed ceramic rods features pre-set sharpening angles that provide the proper sharpening angle every time.
