good system

like it for several reasons.... #1 it has an led for each battery and monitors each battery individualy #2 it fits in my camera bag and will not need a power cable because it has a flip down plug #3 its basic and easy to understand

Great Charger

Like me this thing rocks. It regulates voltage and temperature and adjusts the charge accordingly. Most other chargers are timed based and will eventually kill rechargeable batteries. The refresh function is nice...hard to tell whether it helps as I take pretty good care with my rechargeables to begin with so don't have many that need restoration.

The other nice feature of this is you don't have to have all AA or AAA batteries in at the same time like some others. I think with the voltage regulator you can mix and match.

Inexpensive Smart Charger with Refresh Feature

I recently purchased this charger and battery set after a lot of research and very happy that I opted for a smart charger vs a dumb charger. Smart chargers have voltage regulators to determine when the battery is full charged and stop charging the battery to prevent any damage once the battery is fully charged.

This charger can also charge individual batteries meaning no waiting for another battery to die to charge only one. Sony also has the refresh feature on this charger which will help you restore the life of a rechargable battery not holding its full charge by fulling discharging the battery in the charger and then charging the battery to its full voltage. I have saved a few standard NiMH batteries already using this feature.

The other plus with this package is the Sony branded pre-charged batteries which came with the Eneloop white top on them. Overall, this has to be the best charger and precharger package available including a smart charger with Sony's refresh function and high quality LSD white top batteries.
