High quality and worth it

For mounting a speedlight for remote usage on a light stand, you can't beat this adapter. Also has an umbrella slot so you can soften up that harsh speedlite flash. Allows for a very nice range of positions so you can get the light right where you need it. It's got a nice heavy feel to it, as it's not a cheap piece of plastic but rather a nice solid chunk of metal. The various tightening mechanisms worked very well too, and when you snug things up you can tell things are clamped nice and tight.

Manfrotto Quality. As Usual.

Once you step up to this clamp you will wonder why you ever tried the others. Very sturdy, metal construction. Adjustable handles allow you to get the arm where you need it, not where it happens to tighten. I own a few Manfrotto products and they have always exceeded my expectations.

Only con, if it is one, is that I would prefer the spigots (studs) to be longer. Almost feels like the two included do not belong to this piece.

Save your money on the cheapies - this is the one you need.

I've made the mistake of buying the "cheap" umbrella adapters in the past. I thought I didn't need the "Manfrotto" quality (and pricetag) but in the end, I realized I really did and wish I had started here with the 026 adapter.

The construction on the adapter is fantastic - exactly what you'd expect from Manfrotto. The umbrella slot is angled (something the cheap adapters don't do, and which is why I'm moving to the Manfrotto). Works great for speedlites (and I'd trust larger units on it). This is just one of those times you need to just suck it up and go with the higher-priced items. You'll end up here in the end either way!

Excellent build quality, and mates well with the Manfrotto 5001B stand

I was looking for an adapter that would work with my Manfrotto 5001B stand, and this quickly made my short list. I've been impressed with the Manfrotto brand over the years, and this adapter's build quality did not disappoint. I have used it on a number of photo shoots so far, and it serves its purpose well.

The one con that I might mention is that it comes with a completely useless user guide. I had to assemble it on to my stand using commonsense as well as trial and error.

Note that I use this adapter in conjunction with a Westcott 43" Optical White Satin Collapsible Umbrella, Manfrotto 5001B 74-Inch Nano Stand, and a Stroboframe Bracket Shoe Mount. This combination works exceedingly well for my purposes.

flash adapter

work great on holding flash and umbrella. I use it with my canon 480ex and Vivitar flash with umbrella. they work great.
