Overall good palm cover

The Moshi Palmguard Is a great overall palmguard. It goes on very easily and has a great feel; it's a little rougher than the aluminum. However, I did take it off. (The removal is also very easy and leaves no residue.) The pad itself is rather thick and it does not allow the monitor to sit properly on the base of the computer when the laptop is closed. I don't think that this is actually a problem but it bugged me so I took it off.

PalmGuard is great, track pad protector not so good

I really like the PalmGuard, it actually provides a bit more friction and so it prevents the base of your palms from slipping around on the almost too-smooth palm rest of the MacBook Pro. It also seems like it has a bit of padding in it, even though it is paper-thin. Not sure how that could be possible, but oh well. I'm still looking for something that can dull the sharp edges of the palm rest itself, it cuts into my wrists.

The track pad protector leaves a lot to be desired. It adds a nice bit of friction which actually improves tracking. However, if you use double-tap to do stuff, you'll have problems because you have to tap very hard. This was a show-stopper for me, so I pulled it off. For those who don't use double-tap I think it would work out pretty good, although two finder scrolling is also a bit non-responsive.

Great investment !!!

I previously used the marware protection pack on my silver key MacBook Pro. Once i got my new i7 MacBook Pro Unibody, I started looking around for a palm rest protector. Unfortunately i did not like the look of of the unibody marware protector so i started to search around. I wound up purchasing the Moshi PalmGuard.

Installation of the PalmGuard was fairly simple. I didn't bother looking at the instructions. I cleaned the surface with a alcohol whip and then made sure it was dry with a microfiber towel. I peeled off the backing completely and then started lining it up from the bottom up. I carefully worked it up making sure there were no air bubbles. I was able to successfully install the PalmGuard on the first attempt.

The surface is slightly rougher then the aluminum but I personally like that. It helps prevent my palms from sliding when ever I'm typing. The color is identical but when you look close, you can tell there is a slight difference. There is a very small "moshi" logo at the bottom right, but is is barely noticeable. I actually like there logo and don't mind it at all.

The PalmGuard also includes a track pad protector. I emailed Moshi and found out it is exactly the same as there trackguard product they sell. Unlike the palmguard, i wish the trackguard was more smoother. It is supposed to be ultra sensitive, but I personally think the track pad is not as sensitive as it use to be with out the trackguard. I will try it out for a while, if it begins to bother me i will remove the trackguard.

Over all, I am happy with this purchase. The palmguard is great, it helps protect the palm rest while keeping the sleek and clean look up the MacBook Pro. I definitely recommend moshi products. I also purchased the Moshi ClearGuard MB, keyboard protector. I will write review on that as well.

Excellent Product...!! well worth it.

This is a must have for anyone with a MacBook Pro.. it fits in nicely and you cant even tell its on it.

Simple, nearly invisible protection.

I am a person who has sweaty palms. I am also a person who works on a macbook for hours at a time. previously my sweaty palms have actually caused me to wear away the anodized aluminum finish on the palmrest of my powerbooks and macbook pros. The Moshi Palmguard keeps that from happening, and doesn't add any bulk or weight; in fact it's difficult at a glance to tell that it's even there. Application was easy and forgiving. The adhesive is strong enough that it's never felt like it was moving or slipping, but light enough that i can remove it with just a fingernail.
